Re: Electronic Conspicuity, the CAA and Model Aircraft

It would after being frigged to report an incorrect altitude, but transponders are expensive, power hungry, need proper antennas and so on. A standalone box for a few quid that does ads-b out and can be properly programmed with maximum height of operation and 'unmanned aircraft here' would be a far ...

Re: advice wing tube issues

Is the tube through the fuselage a bit of bog roll too? If so, a far better solution would be to replace the whole lot with a slightly bigger aluminium tube & phenolic outer combination in the wings & the fuz. Another solution would be good fitting disks on the fuz sides and ribs of decent p...

Re: advice wing tube issues

Putting the wing root bending loads through cardboard into 'metal' is structurally interesting!

What's the span of the model? If it's not particularly big, make some ply rings to closely fit the metal tube and just glue the wing halves together and the tube to the ribs.

Re: advice wing tube issues

Richard, we need a bit more information. What's the metal tube for, what's the cardboard for? I hope it's not structural cardboard.

Negotiation
Noun
The process of discussing something with someone in order to reach an agreement with them, or the discussions themselves:

Negotiations are fine between consenting adults, but could we just refrain from the name calling please?

Thanks, Rob

Re: Cutting an Ali cowl

Very thin metal cutting disks used very carefully.

Aluminium is not the best stuff to cut with a grinder as it tends to block up the abrasive, but the Dremel should cut it easy enough. I've dome it with the metal cutting disks that clip onto the arbour quite happily before.
