Re: DH Moth Minor C of G and control throws

Hi Dave , I built one of these last year - strange the cg isn't mentioned on the plan - however it is 4" behind leading edge at centre. The control throws are quite large - 11/2" on elevator, rudder 2" each way and 1" or so on ailerons.I used about 21/2" at rear edge on the s...

1600 mm Focke Wulf 190

I am selling my FW 190 foamy 1600 (63") as I'm clearing out of electrics.I have advertised this on the BMFA site as I thought it more appropriate, and had very little interest,so I know LMA members do fly foamies in the off season. It is a pnf type with flaps etc - there is a fault on the retrac...

Re: DH Moth Minor undercarriage

Hi Dave, I built a Moth from the JB plan earlier this year .I got my undercarriage from Custom retracts in Australia guys name is Al Zuger. First class workmanship as he has made a few for this plan .He has a website with an email address - not cheap but good stuff never is. He takes a while to answ...

Re: Crankcase sealant

Hi Alan

When I used to do the mowers I use to use blue Hylomar gasket sealant worked well cheap to use too.

How did the soap work on the 'dirty model' I'd it work - is she clean now??

Cheers

Pete

Re: D.H. Moth Minor dihedral

Hi Dave , Had it together today - my dihedral measures 3 1/2" at the tip from the centre section I.e. rib 16. Only flown a couple of times to date I'm having problems with the engine - has developed a load of glitching for reasons I haven't found yet - begin to suspect the rxcel box. However fl...

Re: D.H. Moth Minor dihedral

Should read - didn't get the weather - don't know where the gobbledegook came from.

I did the dummy hing line as per plan leaving a gap and gluing some dummy hinges (plastic tubing cut with razor saw) in the gap.

Re: D.H. Moth Minor dihedral

Dave didn't get Cohan early to put it together today - loads of showers. When I do I'll measure the dihedral. Engine is a NGH 25 flies it well but had to make a new silencer so the cowl would fit - hadn't done it when the pic was taken ,yet to be flown when I fit the cowl. Model flies well and doesn'...

Hi Dave,

I have just finished one of these from JB plan - can't remember what the dihedral is but I'll measure it tomorrow-too wet here at the moment to put it together outside.

Re: Fuel plumbing in a 1/3 Spacewalker

Hello Richard in the past I have fitted the Dubro fillers ,both petrol and glo, they both weren't perfect so did away with them. I'm a great believer in the KISS principle and now with all my petrols using Dubro tanks I fit three tubes and leave the filler and breather hanging below the rear of the c...

Re: Got a dirty model,

Yeah pity we didn't meet ,it was pretty busy though.

If you dilute with water 50 : 50 it should work fine.I spray it on with one of those household spray bottles and let it soak in for 10 minutes or so - kind of suck it and see (not literally).

Good luck

Pete
