Re: Harry Harland Memorial Fly-In Sept 16th/17th

We got home from the Fly-in this afternoon. It was a great weekend, but with a nasty gusty cross-wind. However most of the comments we heard about the event were good. The central event of the weekend was the awarding of the Harry Harland Trophy. This took place on the Sunday lunchtime. Before this ...

Re: Harry Harland Memorial Fly-In Sept 16th/17th

Dave,

Please remember that I am a Yorkshireman. Meat is expensive. There will be plenty of veg. We are thinking of cooking a variety of dishes, but only one meat dish which we were planning to be chicken. (The menu will all depend upon numbers, and availability of ingredients.)

Re: Harry Harland Memorial Fly-In Sept 16th/17th

re. catering... Please could everyone who wishes to join in with the Indian food please make sure that we are aware of this, so that we know the numbers we will be catering for. (We might perhaps put up a sign-on list in the clubhouse.) We will be shopping for ingredients on the Saturday morning. If...

Re: East Kirkby 2017

I am so terribly sorry, Den, but on Sunday morning I will be otherwise occupied in the catering tent. Were this not the case, please be assured that I would have come up with a different excuse.

By the way, I will be bringing plenty of the Bengal Potato spice mix if anyone wants some.

Re: Dave Tappin

We knew Dave a.k.a. Tap, through a club we were members of as well as through LMA events. He was always good company. From another forum I have the information :- The funeral is to take place next week on Wednesday 22nd March at 3pm Stonefall Cemetry, Wetherby Road Harrogate with the wake at Square ...

LMA Behind the times?

Behind the times? Well, I know that other strands of social media also exist, but the late news as according to the LMA website has slipped a bit. I know (all too well) the problems of trying to keep a website up to date (I failed, miserably!) However, the first LMA events of the year have been and ...

quid on it, bet thats more channels than Daves Vulcan. Come to think of it, my 34 foot span Luscombe only uses 4 channels. Now then Paul. Don't tell fibs. I agree that it has Elevator, Rudder, Throttle and Ailerons, which is four, but I'm sure that there are other switches, levers, and door handles...

The Joys and Otherwise of Getting Older

One of the joys of getting older is the U3A. If you have not heard of this it is a sort of co-operative organisation for interest groups. You might want to web-search for the U3A in your area to discover if there is anything of interest to you.... I have recently started a U3A Aeromodelling group in...

Re: Fun stuff goes here.

Paul,

Do remember that in this unseasonably warm weather roadkill 'matures' more quickly, so we may need to add extra seasoning to it at East Kirkby to cover the 'extra' flavour.

We saw the Keith and the Constellation at Long Horsley, and it is beautiful. We want to see both of them doing what they should be doing a.s.a.p.

Just for the record there is a company near us who also sells leather. They have a warehouse where you can browse around the offcuts and buy what you find. If you only want a bit of leather, or want to see what you are getting before you part with pennies it is very useful. It is http://www.jwoodlea...
