Re: New to brushless

You need to use less cells for a bigger prop and can use more cells on a smaller prop, this keeps the current down.

The last time I saw one of those retracts was in the mid 70's, I think they were by Micromold.

Re: Electronic Conspicuity, the CAA and Model Aircraft

I would have thought a standard light aircraft / glider transponder sat on the ground would do the job. Instead of an aircraft reg it could be set to broadcast e.g MF1000 for model flying to 1000 feet and return an altitude of 750 feet, that should trip a warning on any aircraft approaching that are...

Re: Cutting an Ali cowl

I presume you are using domed rivets, the cosmetic way to fit them is to countersink the back of the plate, cut the rivet so that it sticks out of the countersunk side about 1/2 the shank diameter, put the dolly in the vice and support the dome of the rivet in it, use the ball end of a hammer to bea...

Re: Cutting an Ali cowl

For rivets you use a rivet snap and dolly if they are for structurally joining two plates, if they are just cosmetic then you use the dolly and a countersink.

Re: Pilot edge 540 87'' help

It's for a 50cc engine, EME, DLE, DA, etc

Everything except the radio gear and engine seems to be included in the kit.

Looking at a similar kit such as http://www.propguy.co.uk/shop/3dhs-89-slick-orange/ should give an idea of the servos required.
Gyro optional.

Re: JR RD922 Rx

I have had a read on other forums, apparently the Rx is turned off by connecting the 2 wires together, at the Rx it is the 2 outer pins that are used.

Re: JR RD922 Rx

Looking at the diagram, the switch connects the 2 black wires to each other when ON as the batterys connect directly to the Rx and not via the switch.

Re: New to brushless

There are 3 things needed, the capacity of the battery, the full load current of the motor, and the C rating of the battery. Here is an example Battery capacity 4400mah Motor full load current 70 Amps Battery C rating 60 First convert the mah of the battery to Amp minutes, 4400mah = 4.4 amps for one...
