Casting rubber for tyres

Postby Dave Osborne » September 16th, 2015, 8:08 pm

I am interested in making my own tyres but would like to know which type of casting rubber to use.

Many thanks Dave

Looks well on the rim,the only mistake i made with this one was put the vent holes on the front.

The only thing i didn't take a picture of (because this stuff goes off fast)was the foam core i cut out and placed in the mold before pouring the rubber,a solid rubber tyre is far to heavy.

Thanks David

You can get the pt flex online say ebay or their website.
I used 60 shore for mine which is fine but you could go to 70 shore with no problems, at around £25 for about eight tyres worth i found it to be very cost effective.

If you have trouble getting the stuff i could get it from their store local to me and send it to you.
