Spitfire Anniversary

Postby robindhart » March 2nd, 2011, 9:11 pm

I'm sure many will have heard that this year is the annaversary of the first flight of the Spitfire. Seventy five years. It might be a good to have a "Spitfire" slot at the shows this year. I believe last year was a Battle of Britian annaversary and as such there was a slot at the Rufforth show to honour it. It was therefore a bit of a disappointment that it was flown by three or four P47's and a Banshee(?) (very well flown I should say). There must be a few Spits. in the LMA to bring this event to the publics attention.

Robin---the theme of Cosford this year will centre around the 75th anniversary---and all the adverts going out will push that as well---we hope to have a record number of model spits in the air----DAVE

While you're doing that Ken, you could also clean up the Spitfire, too!

Sounds promising. Putting my money where my mouth is I'll be at EK and with a spitfire,

Yeah good idea practice at Kirkby, need to keep the standard up though, real Spit's, no Supermarine Shedfire's.
