Bought a long term resident of a garage roof, dry, but suffering from a heavy layer of filth, be nice when its cleaned, thinks i, well, its not, its fabric covered, probably tex, and painted, wirh what, i dont know, but the dirt is ingrained, has anyone any ideas for its removal? Apart from blowtorch, re covering, or repainting? Its white, with black sunburst effect, so it could look nice, if i can clean it!

The one to try is the oven cleaner paste, it is a little more abrasive than talcum powder paste :)

Hi Alan
I have in the past used 'Flash with bleach' It can be a bit on the strong side, but by heck does it move stubborn muck. Wifey say's try it with a micro fibre cloth. Suggest you try a small patch first. IT WONT scratch the surfaces.

Regards

Hi Alan,

I use traffic film soap (as used in pressure washers) sprayed on and let it soak in then wipe off.
I'm going to Haydock I'll bring you a jam jar full if you want to try it.

Hi Alan,

Looked for you today but couldn't find you - left a coffee jar by your cub you had for sale.
It has an unfortunate colour (like a sample!!) so hope you didn't throw it away.

Cheers

Pete

Yeah pity we didn't meet ,it was pretty busy though.

If you dilute with water 50 : 50 it should work fine.I spray it on with one of those household spray bottles and let it soak in for 10 minutes or so - kind of suck it and see (not literally).

Good luck

Pete
