2017 Show circuit, your input is required

Postby david walker » April 2nd, 2017, 8:44 pm

Hello all of you wonderful show pilots out there, your help is required.

I have been happily bumbling along with the show commentry job for a number of years now and have enjoyed the experience it keeps the old brain cells active, BUT as I get a little older input from you would I hope reduce the number of "Senior moments" I have in a day.

So this is were I need a little help from you. All I would ask is that you send me a bit of background on your new interesting projects and interesting historical information you have. Also any information on models you flew on the show circuit last year would be helpful.

We need to remember that a good proportion of the attendees at shows are not modellers and I therefore need to be able to pass on information to them which is both interesting and informative.

Looking forward to your invaluable input. Just tagging it on to this discussion topic would be fine with me

cheers

Hi Dave, my DC3 Dakota / C47 Skytrain is, up to now, flown by Dave Johnson, usually in a slot with Frank Fern's Dak. Its the Nick Ziroli plan and Belair laser cut kit and is powered by two Zenoah 38's. The colour scheme is based on the Dak used in the mini series "Band of Brothers". For the interest of spectators who do the flight line tour, the model is a traditional, all wood construction, finished with glass cloth / epoxy resin. For the really interested, there are over 20,000 rivets on the model, all done individually by hand. This will be her fourth season on the circuit, she will certainly be at Cosford and Elvington, and maybe East Kirkby. Hope this is of use for you. Dave Jones.

Just a friendly reminder that I have as yet only received two responses to my request. East Kirkby will be here before we know it so having some new things to talk about would be rather nice.

For those wondering what the long German word is the translation is "Excellent"

Thanks in advance for any information you can offer

Dave
