Recently picked up this video on the web. It's of interest because Dennis Bancroft was an LMA member in the early days.
I recall him ambling up and introducing himself at Woburn Abbey probably around 1990. He'd been reading some of my articles on large models - particularly one on why large models fly better - and was hugely supportive of the notion as well as the aims of the LMA.
At that time I didn't know he was chief aerodynamicist on the Miles M52 project. We corresponded for a while after that meeting. He was very bitter about the project's cancellation and the fact that the Air Ministry ordered that all data be handed over to the Americans... He died in 2015 aged 96.
