Re: Club joining requiements

Our club, along with some others I am aware of take the view that it is the responsibility of individual members to comply with the law, whether it is being fit to fly, satisfying themselves their aircraft is airworthy, or indeed that they have the relevant CAA documentation. The club will not act a...

Article 16

Many thanks to Rob , Dave Phipps et all who have spent a lot of time and effort in discussions with the Whitehall mandarins in order that we can continue to enjoy our hobby with minimal change despite the raft of regulations being regularly promulgated.

I seem to remember Stuart McKay used to sell a 1/3 scale version, he also displayed one. I don't know if he is still trading.

Several of our club members who have 3d printers are making face masks for our local hospice. One of them is a technology teacher, he has got his school's printers in use as well.
Great effort by everyone, cottage industry is alive and well.

Re: CAA Operator I.D...what did we pay for

Sod's law, I've just finished labelling all 20+ of my aircraft  It's taken quite a bit of explanation to get some of our club members to be compliant, now we can reverse it all and say " forget labelling (at least until the end of June), simply carry a copy of the exemption with you."...

The current regulations are due to change at the end of June when the EASA regulations come into force.
I understand the LMA and BMFA are in discussion with CAA about the next set of requirements.

YouTube and COPPA

I gather that from 1st January YouTube is changing some of its rules as a result of the recent very expensive court case. My understanding is that every video has to be categorised regarding its suitability for children ( hence COPPA, their child protection legislation). If a child views a video tha...

Re: Thank you all drone owners

Totally agree with your sentiment Mike, and with Stuart's reply, but we are where we are and its not worth getting stressed about it and risking your health. This all started some years ago, however, and relates to future airspace usage as much as it does to the antics of a few stupid drone fliers; ...

Re: An Update on the UK Regulations for Model Flyers

The problem i have with having to display your id number on your model is whats to stop people copying it and then flying how they like? Guess who the police are going to come and see? After all its your registration number so it must have been you. If the number is printed in 3mm letters inside a ...

How will anything stick to a well used, film covered Wot4 that has no hatches, has glow fuel exhaust residue, plus mud and wet, then at the end of the session is subjected to cleaning with spray and rags? Even the profilm is trying to make a run for it in places :|

Re: Bing Carb gaskets

Hi Pete,
I've just looked at the 45, it uses a pressure tapping and external pipe from the crankcase to provide the pulse for the carb pump diaphragm, whereas the Walbros I am familiar with use an internal drilling via the insulator block.
