Re: igyro 3e

Hi Glen, Its been quite a few years since I set up my Igyro but I may have an idea or two to try. Try plugging in a spare servo to your channel 5 and just make sure that the Transmitter is setup as you want. There is definitely a clue with the ATV adjust window not showing movement. I find the ‘Serv...

Hi Alex, I have often used the outer from this snake set and 1.9mm carbon rod for my hinges (the Comet and Boston were done this way). https://www.rcworld.co.uk/acatalog/Plastic-Control-Rod-Set-1.0m-Pk2-F_RCA117.html#SID=146 Plastic Control Rod Set 1mtr Pk2 What i found is that may shops sell ‘2mm’ ...

Re: East Coast American Road Trip Advice

I don’t know any model shops but the Udvar-Hazy Centre at Washington Dulles is an absolute must.

You might find that some of the more ‘local’ airfields on your route could have branches of the Confederate Airforce. They tend to be smaller but always worth a look.

Re: Miles Aircraft Model Sponsorship

Hi Jim,

I'm glad you and your wife enjoyed the video of the Libellula. If you are ever down near the midlands then I'd be very happy to try and meet up somewhere so you could see the model and hopefully show you it airborne!

Kind regards

Steve

(Rob, please pass on my details to Jim! Thanks)

Re: Advice with Yellow Aircraft Thunderbolt P47 80"

Hi Tom, Phil's right in that 27lbs does sound quite a lot. I flew my Topflite P47 (85") on a Laser 360 for many years and it had a huge amount of power, although my model only weighed about 21lbs. The Laser 300 is probably going to struggle at that weight, though I'm sure it would get your Thun...

Re: Workshop heating

100% agree with John about the floor. I insulated my (detached) garage floor with 25mm jablite and then 18mm caberfloor ontop. Very simple to do, cost about £150 and makes a massive difference. I also dot and dabbed Gyproc Thermaline Plus 40(30mm insulation + 10mm plasterboard) to my single skin wal...

Re: resin covering with glass cloth

Hi John, No thinning, it was like water straight out the tin. Maybe we used different stuff? I don't recall any smell, and it worked easily enough and gave a nice durable finish in the end. Maybe I used the wrong stuff. I got it from a pond supplies company in Aberden and IIRC it came in a blue gall...

Re: resin covering with glass cloth

Andy, My P47 Thunderbolt was finished in G4 (in 2002!) I admit that I don't use it anymore as it took so many coats (about 7-8) to get a good finish. However, it does dry quick and you can get a few coats on everyday. A light rub down every 2-3 coats helps get a good finish. The surface has lasted w...
