Re: Small electric flight

Suart, Dave, Simon, Many thanks gentlemen for your collective response. The aeroplane is a CenturyUK Cessna 182, which, when I bought it, some time ago used a smaller battery with 7 cells. This model is now quoted as using a 9.6 volt 8 cell battery. The [u]liklihood is that the speed controller is t...

Small electric flight

Can anyone help with the diagnosis of a small electric flight problem. With a brand new fully charged battery the prop spins at a slower speed than required for flight and then packs up altogether after a few moments. It will restart, then does the same thing. How can one test the speed controller o...

Re: OS 40

Hi Tony, Im trying to tune an older moodel OS40, ( before the FS max series,) and I dont think it is delivering enough Rpm / power. This is the engine you flew for me at Binham, which was since set up by an `expert` The two screw adjustments on the carb are difficult to set up in sympathy. I dont ha...

Chord of a wing

1) For a Learner: How does one correctly measure the chord of a wing, through it, around it, or over the top surface centre to centre, or whatever, for comparison purposes when one of the wings concerned is not available. 2) Is it possible to buy plans only for Trainer type wings, thanks to this mob...

Re: Engine Capability

Thanks very much indeed Alan that`s all very good and useful stuff. Using the rudder in that term is instinctive as from full size flying when you are "sitting in the middle" so to speak Your info on the aileron setting up will be very helpful also. The LMA with its enormous reservoir of e...

Re: Engine Capability

Thank you Mr Cantwell for your good intentions, I welcome any help I can get. I have had a 25% J3, but severly bent it and am in the process of perhaps acquiring another somewhat smaller. What specifically are the problems with Cubs that you had in mind for this learner. :)

Engine Capability

Can anyone say if an Irvine 53 red top engine running the appropriate prop could reasonably, or only just, or not at all, `lift` an 83 inch wingspan Thunder Tiger J3 Cub?

Re: Wiring & Electronics Installation

Novice seeking advice please. When the Ailerons are activated, there is a slight downward deflection of the elevator. It happens with both transmitters ( JR2610 and 347 ). The deflection is .25 inch from neutral position, at elevator traling edge. The servos sit side by side., .75 inch seperation. I...

4001:- Advised by Rymans that they no longer do the self adhesive transparent Book covering ( Plan covering ) materiel, as mentioned recently by Barry. Anyone know anywhere else that still does it to cover a Plan 80 inches by 30 inches
