The subjects not bad either Keith, it was a privilege to see her fly at the weekend. A great subject superbly built and flown, backed up by excellent photography.

Totally agree Alan, but the Fokker 70 and the new look VC10 are giving the Connie a run for her money. :D
Overall the LMA have some very skillful members who year after year keep producing beautiful models of all eras.

Re: LiPo danger

After a couple of different club members had LiPo fires in their garages, I invested in a kettle type BBQ with a well fitting lid, which is permanently outside well away from buildings. I've got a 12v power supply fed from the mains via an RCD for the charger. A bit inconvenient when its p*****g dow...

Re: Kingfisher Aviation

Dave if you go on the Kingfisher Aviation web site, Pauls Mobile number is there, I spoke to him in the week leading up to Christmas and he delivered a set of Undercarrriage to me. Dave Dave, Dave's address is B.C., Canada, so phone contact with the time difference ( and maybe cost) could be a prob...

Re: Wanted - engine mod cost

Don't forget that there's a boss cast into the backplate which is blind drilled for the Hall sensor which is epoxied in. The latter is triggered from the crankpin just the other side of the aluminium. If you make a 'standard' backplate you will have to make alternative provision for triggering the HT.

Re: CAA proposed charges

Tony Hooper referred to this at the AGM, and reported that he has been in discussion with the CAA.
As Robbie says, Tony is looking after our interests, and as Rob Buckley often says "the sky is not about to fall".
What is certain however is that we will not be exempt from CAA charges.

Re: Wolf Matador 30cc

If the clearance is not too big, is it possible to hard chrome plate the end of the shaft to give a small interference fit, then use a freezer and oven to shrink fit the parts together.
On the other hand , with the rain we've had today maybe the boat option is the way to go :)

Sorry to hear that Robbie
I suppose the only consolation is that you know what caused it and no one else was involved.

Re: Batteries

I'm using a single 3300 sub c 5 cell pack on a 1/4 DB Pup at around 15lbs with locking toggle switch. Can get three 15 minute flights and still have 5.2v showing at 2 amps load. Using Hitec 635HB (non petrol models only) on the 2 ailerons and rudder and a 645MG for the elevator and running a Laser 2...

A skid is the only way to go on one of those. No issue if you do the right amount of throttle blipping and elevator control.
