Re: Engine info wanted

Hi Alan

I have a Tartan 44cc twin and it does not need an ignition battery. I assume the set up is the same as the 22 single, it looks like it has a flywheel magnito in the back housing infront of the pull starter.
Hope this helps.

Sad news indeed. Loosing 2 founder members in such a short time. My thoughts are with their families.
There can only be a small handfull of the founder members left now.

Re: Set up for large models

Chris Your simplistic solution is favoured by many as the parts count is low and therefore there is less to go wrong. With the "power distribution box" option you have to be careful as there are many types on the market. The more high end ones have internal redundancy and electronic failsa...

Select "trim seperate" in the mix menu and then in the function menu set the trim for the second throttle (channel 5) to a knob or other slider.

Re: Electric setup for an IC twin

Seperate battery for the retract system is the way to go. That wat there would be no risk of a retract problem pulling the voltage down to the receivers with the risk of a Brown out....or worse.

CAA Charge for over 25kg models

I see the latest scale of charges the CAA are going to impose from 1st April this year has raised the cost (again) for the annual registration of over 25kg models to £23. Way more than the annual rate of inflation so it looks like the CAA just trying to screw as much as they can out of the aviation ...

Re: Spektrum AR9100 Receivers

Ian I am not a Spektrum user but if I recall correctly, if the remote receivers lose the signal (as would happen if you switched the RX off and back on again with the TX powered up) the orange lights flash to warn you of the signal loss. Although they are flashing, they are still working correctly. ...

Re: Fail safe

Charles
I suspect that you need to set the failsafe in the "Powerbox" evolution and not in the transmitter.

Set the throttle stick to the position you want the failsafe to be and re bind.

Re: engine thrust lines

Arthur

It is difficult to be specific without knowing the model you have but as a general rule, with the motor mounted above the wing some upthrust is required. normal rules for right sidethrust apply.

Hi All

Is there any LMA member out there, or do you know of anyone, who has built a Paolo Severin Aeronca C3 model. I am interested to get in contact with anyone who has built one.

I think your model is actually 1/3rd scale not 1/4 as you say in your post.

All
I can confirm it is a very nice model and superb to fly, having flown it several times myself.
