Re: Engine kill switch wiring query..............

Thanks Steve, i have been up to the model room and re checked and it is as you say, a Y lead which goes to the kill unit and the ignition battery monitor, the other Y lead is the battery into the left aileron, i was getting my Y leads crossed!!!!!! So the aileron port also supplies the battery power...

SOLD Mick Reeves 1/4 scale Sopwith Camel kit SOLD

Selling my Mick Reeves 1/4 scale Sopwith Camel kit, not going to get round to this in the near future, take a look at the pictures to see what is included, the wheels are not the Mick Reeves built up ones and his gun kit is not here. His web page mentions fibreglass leading edges, there are none of ...

Re: Petrol engine choices for a Bryant Hawker Fury

I think on reflection and following the comments here i will go the electric route, the 20 size motors are going to be too much for this, the radiator scoop under the belly lends itself to fitting a sound system so i may look at that..............Martin

Re: Petrol engine choices for a Bryant Hawker Fury

One engine i was looking at was the NGH GT17, has anyone any thoughts on these, the engine mount fitted seems to fit the width of this motor so it would hopefully not be too much hassle to fit it, the exhaust system would need some thought though.

Custom in cowl exhaust fabrication?

I`m looking at a couple of petrol engine options for my Bryant Hawker Fury, top choice at the moment would be an NGH GT17 which should be more than enough to give it good performance and it will fit onto the current engine mount but the silencer is a side mount. Pitts silencers are available but spa...

This is my winter project, a 60" Dennis Bryant Hawker Fury which needs a recover, suggested engine on the plans is a .60 two stroke, the seller said he thouhght that this one had a .70 O.S four stroke fitted previously, i have found one on line that used a .90 4 stroke. I don`t do Glow engines ...

Re: Prop size on a Zenoah 26 in a WW1 bipe?

Alan presumably the mag gap is at the rear of the engine? If so it is going to be a b*gger to get to as it will require the removal of some wood which is glued in place to stop the tank moving. Once the tank is out of the way i can get at the bolt heads to remove the engine. At some point over the w...

Re: Prop size on a Zenoah 26 in a WW1 bipe?

Thanks again for the replies, i have borrowed a starter for the moment which gets it going though struggles through compression, i will be buying one of the JEN starters, is it worth the extra money for the 6:1, i will be running it off a car battery at the moment so 12v rather than 24, what slave b...

Prop size on a Zenoah 26 in a WW1 bipe?

Got to run the engine in my Fokker Tripe today, the plane is fitted with a well used Zenoah 26 mag engine and i was shown the motor being started and run when i picked it up using an electric starter. However i could not get it to start on a flick despite trying for over an hour  It will cough...
