Re: Drone register petition

The worst point is that the government has given the DfT millions to set this up, and they have to make that money back. £16.50 is not anywhere near enough.

Re: Drone register petition

It actually takes 100,000 votes to get a mention in Parliament. (usually late at night with three people in there) Absolutely pointless. Give your MP a piece of your mind instead.

Re: Drone register petition

It detracts from the email complaints, and gives people the idea they have done their bit, while really it would take far more than the number of model fliers there actually are to do anything.

Re: new registration rebellion

I'm not sure how the liability insurance would cover the 'actions of members', in that scenario. I dont think I would like to take responsibility for some of our members!

Re: new registration rebellion

We have been pushing that view since day one Glenn. It is simply ignored by the DfT. They have ruled that we are all the same. 6,000 people emailed their objections to this, it should have been 35,000. Oddly enough, the same percentage of club members who actually do anything to help run a club... :...

Re: Stolen Van HJ 61 NJU White ford Transit

Makes my blood boil. Sorry to hear about that, Transit parts are stolen and shipped abroad in containers, its big business. Hopefully the models will be found dumped.

Re: new registration rebellion

Could the combined offices of the LMA and BMFA mount a legal challenge, citing the onerous burden and cost of running a duplicated system for no benefit, and the disregarding of the government's own (and E U) published guidance. There may also be a case that these regulations remove a freedom, and ...

Its becoming blindingly obvious, Alan, but I still cant see drone deliveries working in the UK. I have the only back garden in the entire street that a drone could get in to...

Re: new registration rebellion

So Amazon wins. I have just posted this on another forum- This is the sinister bit- We were told that the government has the aim of introducing rules now that will enable all airspace users, manned and unmanned, to coexist in the future without having to rewrite the rules in the near future to accou...

Re: new registration rebellion

about what I thought. It has to be so pathetic that everyone actually passes, its just to make sure you have read the regs.
Question 2: can I fly my drone a) in the supermarket? b) on the M1? or c) in a field miles from anywhere.

Re: new registration rebellion

Glad to hear. I can just imagine what the CAA office junior would make up. At least that will be something we could actually make use of.

Re: Which battery type

I watched a nmh battery go up in Germany. It was fully charged, and the heat from the sun (it was bloomin hot) set it off. We saved the model with some singed fingers. So it can happen to any battery!

Re: Which battery type

Safety of lipos is simple, Mike. Charge them (balance every time) outside on a BBQ or similar so nothing can hurt if it decided to go up, and keep them in a tin box in the garage or shed. I only have 3s for foamies but have never had a problem in five years of using them.

Of course, thats why I wrote "From BMFA- I presume the LMA concurs."
Please send emails, and cajole your club members in to this too. More emails, the bigger the protest.
