Re: 1/12 scale Avro Vulcan B Mk2.

Not quite ready to fly yet. I have installed every thing except the turbines and fuel tanks. So far I have an AUW of just over 10Kg. After a lot of researching, mainly what other builders of large jets have done, I have decided to power it with two Wren 70s. This will give me a bit more power than I...

Re: 1/3 Scale Spitfire MkVb

Thanks guys for all of your advice and suggestions. Robert – although I said it was to be a Spit VB, being ex Fleet Air Arm, I have decided that it will actually be a Seafire (possibly a 47) with arrester gear and catapult hooks etc. Phil – you haven’t dampened my enthusiasm, but you have made me re...

I am just starting to build a 1/3rd scale Spitfire VB. I have already built a 1/6th scale Spit ( from a Mick Reeves Kit) which flies superbly Because I already have a full set of plans/drawings for the 1/6th scale, I intend to double up on all of the dimensions, double the thickness of the ribs, for...

Re: 1/12 scale Avro Vulcan B Mk2.

Hi Stuey, I am not sure if I should use 4 EDFs or a jet. The problem with a jet is where or how to do the jet pipes. At the moment I have four jet pipes, each of 60mm diam. Any advice would be very much appreciated. As it is, without servos, engines or receiver it weighs 9 kilos. That may sound slig...

Re: 1/12 scale Avro Vulcan B Mk2.

Hiya Jason, and thanks for the compliment. As for how long it has taken me ----- I spent about 2 weeks trying to find/acquire plans or a kit on the internet but all that I came up with was an A5 3 View and a bunch of photographs. So then I spent about 6 weeks drawing all of the ribs / formers (that ...

1/12 scale Avro Vulcan B Mk2.

I am currently building a 1/12 scale Avro Vulcan B Mk2 This was not built from a kit. I had to design it from photographs, the main dimensions and a very small (a5) 3 view diagram. That is why I am including photos that illustrate the various stages and methods of construction. It has a wingspan of ...
