Re: Wood glue

Bob, I have never used gorilla glue, its too expensive. If it is a pva based glue then it will be heat sensitive. As we know Balsa loc is pva based and that sticks and unsticks with heat.

Re: Wood glue

Hi Rosario, beware that some pva white glues are heat sensitive and can become rubbery in high temperatures (even left in the sun on hot days). I prefer to use an aliphatic resin, it withstands heat and is easier to sand on a laminated edge. For high stress areas use epoxy. Personally i do most of m...

Re: An Update on the UK Regulations for Model Flyers

As some-one who isn't keen on registering and opening the door to extortion, what are the alternatives to rc flying. Do you need to register if you only fly indoors? what about control line models of free flight? I haven't seen these disciplines mentioned, and as they don't offer any possible threat...

Re: new registration rebellion

It looks like your all over this Bob. I'm not sure if i have read the document correctly but is it applicable to all aircraft or just powered, indoor or outdoor. At what point does the owner of an aircraft need to register, if a retailer has a box on the shelf containing an rtf including transmitter...

Re: new registration rebellion

Surely all legal model pilots are on a register already, through the insurers, can the CAA not access this, as police do with car insurance. Those that don't bother insuring aren't going to register anyway. This is just a toy aircraft tax! Bloody conservatives.

Howard DGA6 Mr Mulligan

I am in need of some assistance with the Undercarriage of a Mr Mulligan DGA6. I am building a 1/4 scale model and would like to fit a scale undercarriage but cant find any info or drawings. Looking at the restricted area for Barton aerodrome (M/C). the e/w runway is very close to the LMA site at Glazebury. will this effect the flying at the site?

Sounds interesting Richard, but £10 a day is a bit steep for a caravan, how much is it per night?
Any Photos please.

Mike Standing

It is with sadness i have just discovered that a long time member of the LMA, Mike Standing has passed away. Mike was well known around the shows and fly-ins during the 90's and 00' but ill health over the past few years has stopped him from flying and then more recently attending. For part of his i...

Just a reminder the HAKits Shoestring models are still available. Ideal winter project,( total build time about 100 hours) quality ply and balsa kits that are a pleasure to build. Fly well on a 26cc-35cc petrol or an electric 10 cell set-up. 2018-03-09_162628_93D21CDF-2E0E-4B23-8B02-66792902F312.jpe...
