Re: Super Constellation

looking great Keith......Did you mod the retracts at all. i seem to remember i made them using some old Len Gardner wheels. Dubro now do a giant size selection of their lightweight range which I think are a better wheel. Might be resurrecting the Conni plan and down-size to produce a 72" versio...

Re: Tony Nijhuis- 95" Vulcan

I don't think a Bif pipe would work Mke.....the wing is too thin to hide a pipe breaking out of the fus into the engine nacelles....better off trying a couple of small wrens. Currently making the VAC forms for the canopy and engine nacelles

Re: Tony Nijhuis- 95" Vulcan

A 707 would make a great project though!!!!

There is a radius shroud that will sit round the pipe outlet so side on the tail will appear to have the normal Vulcan 'dome' tail. Just worked out the wing loading and its about 18oz/sq foot......no wound she flew scale at 1/3 throttle!!

Tony Nijhuis- 95" Vulcan

May be not as impessive as DJ's but today was the first flight of the 95" single turbine powered Vulcan and what a cracker.... AUW is 26lbs with fuel and Wren 100 for power but a cheaper Wren 80 would be more than adequate. Before you ask, this will be a plan pack :D :D :D happy Days IMG_1960-1....

Re: Tony Nijhuis Vampire Build

Hi Dave and all, Good to know the models are nearing completion and great to see your getting under the target weight too. Just a reminder that the C of G is critical on this type of model as the booms provide very little in the form pitch stability, so please make sure you are on it or better still...

Re: New Vampire

Do you know what Ian, when i did the talk circuit last year, the amount of modellers who came up after the talk and said "what engine goes in the nose then?" I was tempted to say it was a prototype push-pull Vampire which had a turbine in the back and engine up front!!!...but i couldn't be...
