Re: Latest Journal

Enjoyed the latest journal, particularly the article on the DR1. Would like to see more detail on the power unit. BUT PLEASE Dave can we have a better picture of Rob Buckley ??!! On Page 7 he looks like a cross between Benny on Crossroads and somebody who just had bad news. Not the happy smiling Rob...

Re: Flair 1/4 scale DR1 control throws?

Digging through the plan box under the bench, found my original Flair plans. CG 6" back from the firewall which equates to almost exactly half way back on the top wing when it's all assembled and dry. Like Pete, with too many years experience on DR1s it's not that critical, better just a tad no...

Re: Ziroli P51

Thanks Carey. At the moment I've got a tad of down and no sidethrust. Been talking to Stewart Clifford who has a lot of experience with the Ziroli. He reckons zero zero so it's all a bit variable. I think I'll stick with what I've done so far and see how it goes.

Thanks for your help

Re: Zenoah g62 easy start wanted

Jonno -- As I said yours for the asking!!! I'm feeling generous because Pete Siggins recently gave me a bellhousing for a 62, and I've no use for the easy start so all the better if you can get the use out of it. Perhaps let me know on 01926512289 what you want to do about getting hold of it John We...

Re: Zenoah g62 easy start wanted

I emailed Darren to say I have an easy start box ex a xenoah 80 twin which was converted to electronic ignition. Turned it on yesterday. Red light happily glows. Yours for the asking

Ziroli P51

Advice please. Son Jason and I have recently acquired an almost complete Ziroli 51 which needs a lot of remedial work before flight. I have just had to make a new front bulkhead and reinforce the sideframes to take the bellhousing of a Xenoah 62. As built the original bulkhead had no downthrust or s...

Re: Xenoah 62 rear bellhousing

Hi Pete,
Thanks for getting in touch. Can you put my name on it please? I don't have your number or email, but if you could let me have a contact I'll get in touch and sort out how I can get hold of it.
Thanks

Xenoah 62 rear bellhousing

Has anyone a bellhousing as above they're happy to part with please?
I also have a couple of 60mm propdrivers I'd be happy to part with. 1 for 1 exchange for bell housing??

Thanks

Re: LMA AGM 2016

As we all enjoyed our President, Martin Withers, talking about the Vulcan at the AGM, then I'll be watching Channel 4 at 7.30pm Sunday. Guy Martin is doing a 90 minute programme around the last flights plus all the history. No doubt our president will feature somewhere. I'll be watching. John Webb 800

Re: Bloodhound SSC 1000mph

Hi Keith, Your post on Bloodhound SSC reminded me I had the pleasure of sitting next to Andy Green at a dinner in London just before Christmas. He's a great character, well over 6'-0" tall and used to fly Phantoms and the Tornadoes. I asked him how he got on being so tall. He told me the Phanto...
