Re: EME 120 twin problems

I've just gone back to the beginning of the thread and an obvious question springs to mind about the fuel / oil quality and ratio may have a bearing . . . ? Is it running on top quality synthetic oil at 50:1 ratio ? I use sthil ultra oil at 50:1 for all my engines, even my Moki radial engine . . . i...

Re: EME 120 twin problems

Hello Peter / Tony, I think it may be the reeds causing the mischief here . . . Is the reed block of the type that the reeds can be turned over to better press against the block surface ? Its always a good indication if , when the crank is rotated back and forth against compression you may hear a *f...

A bit worrying for you and yours on your cruise . . . just a heads up to say best of luck - its all good timing because it will all be behind you before the flying season starts . . . . cheers. Glenn

Re: Operator ID

Page 10 of the journal says *Over 20kg models have specific requirements that are listed on the exemtion for the model, but compliance with operator and remote pilot requirements are not included* Is this an exercise in unclarity ? I agree John, its a hard quiz to decifer from the clues within the s...

As one of the founder members of the infamous Gee Bee team, I note your competitive format with some concern . . . Our display races were always non-competitive and mostly stage managed for a visual effect. This allowed us to try and keep a reasonably safe display slot, particularly, and especially ...

Re: An Update on the UK Regulations for Model Flyers

Its been mentioned throughout the day on the radio, but interestingly, not one word regarding model aircraft requiring to register as well. One guy in the phone-in was really angry because his delivery of drugs to the local prison had to be put on hold until after he had passed his online test. Anot...

Re: Lavochkin LA7

Its at the back of the workshop Stuart. I really must get it finished. Its a long story but owing to the P47 getting passed around, it has suffered bits missing/broken etc. I cant muster the enthusiasm for it just at the mo . . . The ridiculously large Gee Bee has had a flight tho !!

Lavochkin LA7

This is a long shot, but does anyone have, or know of the whereabouts of a Scalewings LA7 ? This is a discontinued composite kit to nearly 1/3rd scale . . . I'm on the lookout for either new/unstarted, crash-damaged, or retired airframe ? anything considered . . would be interested in any other mode...

Re: Evolution 260cc radial problems.

Sorry to hear this Barry . . Heard it running at Winterton and it sounded so sweet . . . I have dealt with UMS in India directly and found them to be very helpful. My enquiry was with regards to a hydraulic conversion set to pneumatic retract set up, but I think they will be equally helpful regardin...

Re: Walbro Fuel Inlet. Removeable?

its a tricky job stuart but can be done. the plastic nipple is pressed onto a splined brass spindle. dont try to twist it as it will probably split open. grip well and pull upward, reposition and press down until it clicks into position. Hope it helps . .

Re: new registration rebellion

As I see it, the biggest headache from this is that the *authorities* or whoever is responsible for nuisance unmanned drones, or otherwise, will not seperate them from our model aircraft operation, either within a club or otherwise. As we have all been classed as one group, then real problems for us...

Re: new registration rebellion

Hang on a minute Paul - don't reach for the rope just yet ! I think that we need to convince the powers that be to positively seperating drone aircraft (particularly FPV types) from ordinary model flying type aircraft. From my experience, it can be noted that club members who have had a dabble with ...

yes, It must be taking a lot of time and effort for our representatives dealing with this overbearing issue - and all, it seems ending in a car crash that is developing as a draconian imposition of needless registration (read; moneymaking scheme) Bob is right about the impending upping of costs as t...
