1/4 scale DH Chipmunk wanted

Hello, Just putting the feelers out here. Are there any 1/4 scale Chipmunks out there in LMA land that could do with re-homing. Any age or redeemable condition considered. I much prefer refurbishing proven air frames to their former glory. I don't particularly require engines or avionics so air fram...

Re: Engine Thrust 10ft BN2 Islander

Hi Andy, I designed and built a semi scale Islander which was around the same size as the project you're currently working on. It was adequately powered by a pair of SC 120 FS engines with no down or side thrust. It flew really nicely. The video link shows the model after I finally gave up with the ...

Re: Drone register petition

Thanks for the info Alan/ Bob. I've already completed the official CAA petition that Rob sent us all and thus made my thoughts on the subject known in a polite manner and also emailed local MP. I'm not worried about the cost of the proposed registration scheme nor fear what will surely be a simple o...

Re: Show helpers and pilots

Like your thinking Steve but better still, why not attempt to encourage all pilots to try to remain close to to the flight line when not performing and we all try to make ourselves constantly available to act as a helper to any pilot therein looking for said helper. Maybe some seats and a small pop ...

Winter Journal

Winter Journal 2018. Just wanted to say, another job very well done and to pass on my thanks to Dave Parry and the contributors regarding the latest edition of the LMA journal. A difficult task but another very modern and professional looking publication and a good read. Have a great Christmas and k...

Re: Large scale Extra 330.. Free for collection

Cheers Alan. That particular DR1 looks nice in it's shiny, red covering but it's actually older than god and a temperamental little sod at that. It's been through every war imaginable. It couldn't fly in straight line if it wanted to but every now and again it actually flies lovely and lands lovely ...

Large scale Extra 330.. Free for collection

Hi, I have a very large scale Extra 330 which is offered free for spares or easy repair. Flies really well, not crashed and could be put back into service in a day. Requires a DLE 100cc engine or over. Last flown on a Zenoah 74 twin which was o.k for basic aerobatics but more power required for the ...

Re: repainting

I've done this a number of times with reasonable success. The most recent subject was a Black Horse Corsair. Firstly, I use a scouring cream and a green scouring pads to gently key the surface. Don't be too aggressive or you risk going the the covering, especially over open structure parts of the ai...

Re: UK DFT Consultation feedback

What is the official definition of a "Drone"? Surely every single radio controlled aircraft in the world is effectively an unmanned drone of sorts. Does a radio controlled aircraft have to have 4 motors and look every bit like a DJI Phantom to be branded a "Drone". The reaper doe...

Hope this helps. It's the brilliantly simple little program that I use and once you've used it a couple of times then you will fly through image file resizing. It's free and there's no adware or malware attached to it.

Re: Use of our website

I take my hat of to Dave Hayfield for putting himself on the pedestal and raising this subject. Build threads are interesting and make for good reading as long as they are progressive and reach a conclusion which ought to include the details of first flights and any technicalities or issues that the...

Re: Cosford 2016 Thanks

Had a great weekend and all thanks to a relatively small band of organizers of whom collectively pulled off another very successful LMA Cosford show which in itself must be a mammoth task. After what has been a fairly disappointing summer for us it was a real bonus for the the event to be blessed wi...
