Re: Magneto Zenoah 26

I use the Zenoah 26cc in WW1 and my sons in law use the same in WW1 and Extra 330. Best prop is 18 x 8 Engle silent pro obtainable from Fighter Aces was extremely expensive but now similar price to Majelik (spelt incorrectly). 18 x 6 Majelik gave 8,700rpm and is the air sounded over reving. 18 x 8 M...

Re: Weatronic 2.4GHz - Available in UK

AN UPDATE TO THE ABOVE Two weeks ago I received my new BAT64 Transmitter from Ace Jets. It has more than lived up to expectations. Range in my view is greater than the module version. I gave up on the range test at 310meters and still working on reduced power. 60 meters are I think OK on the BAT64 a...

Re: servos and giant scale

Richard, If you are serious I would reccommend you speak to Tony Hooper who will nominate a LMA inspector to discuss your project with you. I my view the aircraftyou propose will be well over 20kgs. I have a smaller single engine plane and that is 56lbs. The subject is far more complex that just the...

Re: Powerbox 'Royal' Spectrum in over 20kg models?

What happens if your transmitter elevator or aileron potentiometer wiper fails. Your plane will crash. This is not very likely but does happen. Similarly my MC24 processor board failed two years ago at a show transmiter book in. If an elevator servo fails it is likely to go to one end of the track g...

Re: Spektrum 2.4 multi batteries

You should not put Nicads, NMHi, Lipo or for that matter I think LiFer batteris in parrellel. They all have a very low internal resistance and if a cell in one goes down the battery with all good cells will back feed the wek battery by 30 to 35 amps for a NMhi or even 70 amps in the case of a high q...

Re: Powerbox 'Royal' Spectrum in over 20kg models?

By Martin Waller 1237 I have read with interest the comments in this section as I use Powerboxes on my smaller models with the Weatronic micro 10channel receivers. I though I would read the manufacturers instructions for the systems concerned on the Powerbox website and the answers are there quite c...

Weatronic 2.4GHz - Available in UK

by M J Waller LMA 1237 As many of you know I have been flying Weatronic 2.4Ghz with my Graupner MC24 tranmsitters since the beginning of August 2009. The performance of this system in nothing sort of outstanding. In range checks on low power setting I get at least 3 times the manufacturers range of ...

Re: multi-bolt props on petrol engines

I have used the six bolt fixing on many engines from 60cc to 100cc and never had a problem. If only 3 of the six are used then they will break (happened to two of my friends I witnessed first hand both times). If high tensile steel 5mm cap head bolts are used they will not break with over tightening...

Re: zenoah 62

Both are good, the 24 x 8 gives best static thrust and would be best for draggy-bi plane types and will give good vertical performance will also slow plane down more at tick over for landing and in dives. 22 x 10 will rev slightly higher and will fly smaller/less draggy planes faster but will not ha...
