Re: 1/3 Scale P-51

I have now made the new tail feathers to the point of fitting new wing tubes as I could not get a replacement tube to suit the existing set up. As fit the engine, this has had a major strip and rebuild. ZDZ seem to be a jinks with me. This engine was new direct from the factory but arrived with no i...

1/3.3 Hispano Buchon

It’s 5 years since I started this project, the reasoning behind it was to build an aircraft to fit my Zenoah 124 twin,s that I had made. Two aircraft were started, one the Buchon and two the P-40 at 1/4 scale. Both fuselages were done as skeletons then all work stopped. Late on last year I got the b...

Re: 1/3 Spitfire

After another factory unit move in 2019 I have more space to get on with the bigger projects I have on the go. The Spitfire is now on her wheels and the engine fitted. I am looking to get her test flown later in 2020

Re: 1/3 Scale P-51

Not all engines are suitable and in many cases the front bearings can cope, with my Zenoah projects I add a second bearing to give added support due to the crank design.

Zenoah 186 Triple

I am putting the Zenoah Triple up for sale as I no longer have need for it due to a change of plans. It is built using all new engines and parts and has been thoroughly test run as some LMA members have seen. It turns a 40 X 22 SEP 2 blade prop at 3250 rpm. Price £1500.00. If not sold I will be stri...

Re: 1/3 Scale P-51

Yes Colin, I have my own CNC business and its one of the perks of the job. I purchased Solid works this year and it has made making these sort of projects a lot easier than when I designed them on the back of a fag packet.

Re: 1/3 Scale P-51

The engine has now been modified to fit with a reduction of 2 to 1 swinging a 40 X 26 prop for running in. There are just a couple of small jobs to do before I can run it up one of which is a tie bar from the prop driver mount to the bulkhead.

1/3 Scale P-51

I purchased this project at the Nats in 2017. Having instructed my fellow modeling friends not to let me buy another big project they let me down badly. Its in need of some major TLC and strengthening around the wing area, I am told it has flown on a 150 twin but i have a 250 to graft into it with a...

Re: 1/3 Spitfire

This is the assembly built up. The back mount plate took some making as ZDZ's machining of the rear mount was not concentric with the centerline of the engine and I had to use cam bushes to true it all up. since the initial runs which were very impressive I have not found the time to manufacture the...

Re: 1/3 Spitfire

I finally got time to resize the images I had of the drive build. This is the drive coupling I designed for the drive assembly to take all of the side load off the engine front bearings along with its purpose to push the engine back onto the firewall.
