Due to the side effects of the high strength pain relief medication I am on l cannot drive so any purchaser will have to arrange collection from Kelso in the Scott...

A pilot from AH Designs was fitted shortly after these pictures were taken. RF4D-9.jpg It is equipped...

Re: Journal 152 Autumn 2015

Yes, fairly easy. Here's a picture from my collection. 01 Twin Pioneer.jpg First flight was 25 June 1955 but I think the picture was taken later than that, possibly into the early 1960s. Two more from the same time. 02 Avro CF100s & Sabres.jpg 03 BOAC Boeing 707.jpg There used to be a road with ...

Re: Burmese Spitfires

I remember reading an article some years ago about the BBMF and the chief engineering officer was quoted as saying something along the lines of "if there's the will and the money we can keep them flying forever"

Re: Unipart Fournier RF4

OK, now the flying. Since my last post about it's flying qualities I’ve only had one outing with the Fournier which had some minor problems. A bit of vibration was quickly traced to slightly loose engine mounting bolts. The other thing was that the throttle cut instead of cutting the engine, the rev...

Re: Unipart Fournier RF4

I haven’t seen Ted Allison for a while because of the bad weather. Although his 50% Fournier is quite close to flying I think his 25% EE Lightning has been taking priority.

Re: Unipart Fournier RF4

Hi Ross

It's snowing like crazy again here in the Scottish Borders and as I've had enough shovelling for today (and it's dark) I thought I’d do a brief update on the RF4. First I’ll re-post a few pictures of the build then go have something to eat, more later.

Re: Unipart Fournier RF4

Hi Ross Although it was a difficult build it was worth the effort. Due to the poor weather this season it's still only had 18 flights but has proven to be a delight to fly. The only problems so far are marginal prop clearance due to the retract I chose having a fairly short leg, some quite strong ya...
