Re: Qualified Helper at public shows?

Hi Robbie I took some legal advice from the Wife on this last night. It boils down to the definition of "helper", the helper is there to help - does that include flying the model? If the second person or helper is required to take over as pilot in an unfortunate situation then the term hel...

Bi-plane CofG measuring

Can anyone give me some pointers to measuring the CofG for a bi-plane.
The model is a Christen Eagle, I'm not sure how to measure the CofG given the that two wings are staggered.

Many thanks

Re: Cosford Show

Dave, thanks for the reply and I hope you had a good show weekend.
Wouldn't dream of flying unless in the right place and under the right control of the organisers.
The glider display sounds like something to look forward to.

Many thanks

Cosford Show

Hi all I've heard rumours in my club that there is an informal fly-in, for want of a better word in the evening after the crowd have left at the Cosford show. Is this true? If so, is it open only to LMA members, can any aircraft fly and can models be flown on 35mhz  ? I shall be camping the we...

Propeller pitch values

I understand the various measurements of propellers with the diameter and pitch as a numerical value. I don't understand the alphabetical value of pitch on some of the large diameter propellers. For example, I'm looking at the moment at 24" prop but the pitch is either A or B so therefore its e...

Re: Multiple servo wiring

Thanks Andy

I set up a spare receiver this morning with two servos as you suggested. I think it will do what I need. :D
Thanks Andy.

Multiple servo wiring

I am using multiple servos to control the elevators on my Pitts special, two hitec servos that will have the control arms connected by adjustable linkages. The servos don't have the high voltage connection so they can't be connected directly to the battery. I am unsure how to wire two servos on the ...

Re: Walbro Carburetor

Thank you for your suggestions. Sunday got the better of me. I managed to start it but it wouldn't idle at all.
I've sent it on to Gashanger.com who are the UK dealers for JC engines. So just awaiting their verdict.

Re: Walbro Carburetor

Sadly, it doesn't have a flywheel. It gets its timing from the crankshaft with a small magnet that activates the hall effect sensor.
Thanks though.

Re: Walbro Carburetor

New parts have arrived this week. Found this week that spark has no disappeared completely, so now fitted a new ignition module, spark plug and different battery. It now sparks again. I've tried to start the engine and it seems to want to run but just won't keep running when I remove the starter mot...

Sounds like it's worth a try as it's the only thing I haven't changed. Will order one tomorrow as I don't have any spares. :o

Thank you

Re: Walbro Carburetor

Fuel system Put another fuel tank on top of the stand off mounts and still the same problem, although it did fire for one or two seconds and then cut again and would not start again. Which seems to be the nature of the whole problem, the engine might fire for a couple of cycles and then stall with a...

Re: Walbro Carburetor

I have now cleaned and rebuilt the Walbro three times and still the problem remains. The only change I have made to the model is a new fuel tank that is now slightly smaller, further back and lower in the fuselage. I've removed the fuel feed tube from the carb and sucked fuel through (YUK) and also ...

Walbro Carburetor

My JC28Evo petrol engine is fitted with a Walbro Carburetor. I haven't flown the plane (1/4scale Cub) for at least six weeks if not longer. :o I came to start the model the other day, spent a while getting it ready making sure it was safe to start after its rest. It started no trouble at all, a few ...
