Re: New projects that do not fly

My newest arrivals landed on 25/03/2021 and I went off to collect them on 01/04/2021 and perhaps the day chosen was a clue to what was going to happen, arriving at 08h30 I began to load a lovely 84 year old Plymouth when my Achilles tendon in my left leg snapped. I will now in all likelihood be focu...

Re: Wanted,Temperature operated cowl flaps

So a bit of old school engineering for cowl flaps, no electronics, no servos, just some wire or to be more accurate heat sensitive coils as per old carburetor choke control. Why not use a coil mounted fairly close to the old cylinder head, with a bit of planning a few simple coils could easily open ...

Phil , Alan says in his first line he is selling the plane but leaves out his price, perhaps this is the clue but perhaps he is also setting himself up for a bit of banter, Alan how much would you like? And then of course what's the discount for everyone but Phil :D

Re: screwjack actuator

did a similar thing with a servo too but instead of microswitches used a linear potentiometer to stop it. process I used was to make up a screw to fit into servo output, I used a cheap metal gear servo, literally used a woodscrew and threaded end of it to screw into servo where belcrank arm retainer...

Re: An Update on the UK Regulations for Model Flyers

No terrorist will register, well he might but more then likely not, and yes the point of registering is seemingly to give some mate a title and fat paycheck and a few others a job at minimum wage to make it all look good. I though believe that regulation through the associations is more then adequat...

Re: An Update on the UK Regulations for Model Flyers

Rubbish you may view it as but sadly I lived through terrorism in two countries, some called them freedom fighters. It was not unknown for babies to be killed and their bodies stuffed with explosive and denoted by the mother whose back the child was strapped to. Or for schools and churches to be att...

Re: An Update on the UK Regulations for Model Flyers

Allow me please to play devils advocate, an incident occurs with a drone flight to interrupt traffic into in this case Coningsby, severely restricting the ability of the QRF ( quick reaction force ) and any other aircraft to fly out of or into the base. The current situation is such that any attempt...

Sebart Shark

I know this a long shot but I have been asked do some flying with a young man who has Duchenne Muscular Distrophy, this is a devastating illness and the only interest he has shown is in aircraft, I know the Shark well and it is ideal for this due to its extremely docile flying characteristics. If an...

All the clutter in the workshop show just how busy a man Arthur is, if any silly bigger were to tidy it Arthur will find nothing as he knows where all is. To a tidy person a messy workshop is a nightmare, to those who say stuff it will tidy it later it becomes their quite place as all fear to enter....
