Re: Spray painting

I've always liked the Flair Spektrum paint. It goes on very well although it does break down with nitro over time.

Re: Feb 2015 Aeromodeller mentions the LMA - but ...

Having read the previous posts, I think the entire hobby is changing as is society. Years ago people could only build a plane from plans or a kit, there was no other choice and so they knew where they stood. Today there are so many options, many of which are 'instant'. In the last 3 or 4 years my cl...

Re: Christmas Journal and the unsung heroes.

Superb Journal, well worth the read. Some very good articles and good feedback on the AGM and the CAA meeting, especially with the recent publicity about 'drones'.

Well done to all.

Re: EARL-03 a Lifting Body flyer

Ray, I would echo Bob's comments. Perhaps you may wish to visit Weston Supermare this weekend, there is a show on the beach. You could get chance to have a chat with people. Also on the last Sunday of October there is a static and trade show at Gaydon Motor Heritage Centre, this would be a good plac...

Thanks for that Dave. It certainly is a lot of plane. I shall look forward to the finished article.

Looking very nice indeed. Follwing with great interest. I do like the Dak!

Have you weighed it yet? Any idea what the final weight is likely to be?

Re: Starter

HOW MUCH????? Add that to the price of a Sullivan and the Easystart looks really, really cheap! Use a Sullivan on 24 volts and it will work fine. Or contact Glen for lessons in starting..... We bought the reduction kit, cost us about £70, as it was about $2 to the pound at that time. Maybe Da...

Re: Starter

We have one of these, starts all big petrols and keeps hands clear. We've been using it for 5 years, went into Graves RC in Florida when we were on hols, they ordered it for us from Miller Products and a week later we picked it up. Well worth it. Just bolts onto a Dynatron. http://millerrcproducts.c...

Re: Newbie

Ben, I have an 81" spitfire, it took me about 3 years to build from a kit, and had many modifications from the plans and instructions in order to fit the engine, radio and a lot of lead (4.5lbs) to balance. Plans and instructions are really only a guide as are final weights and radio/engine...i...

Re: Newbie

Glen, Ben, These days an ideal way of understanding how a model is built and the way to fit it out and source materials etc. is to buy an ARTF trainer, something like a ripmax trainer, or seagull boomerang. By doing this you will learn the basics, how to mount the engine, install the RC, tail and wi...

Re: Newbie

Hi Ben Not wanting to dampen your enthusiasm, but you are better off leaving the Spit for a while and going for a training aircraft, to try and learn to fly on a Spit is like learning to drive in an F1 car. If you havent already, it is advisable to join a local club and the BMFA http://www.bmfa.org/...
