Re: Taken From Model Storage Marquee Elvington

If it was the model marquee then it probably was his as we had 2 blue ones for the cadets to.sleep on due to the weather Friday night. I shall call him tomorrow and ask.

Re: Taken From Model Storage Marquee Elvington

Ah, now interestinlgy Bill Grimsley picked one up from outside the Swap Meet tent on the Sunday afternoon just as it began to rain. Could this be the same one?

Re: Aircraft plans

Hi Steve, I already have those apart from the attachment so good find thanks. Maybe I can use most of them to get an idea of the curves on this monster now. I'll take a closer look at RCgroups today. Full cutaway sounds good :D

Re: Aircraft plans

That does actually lead quite nicely into my next question Rob :D of if you have the general exterior dimensions and scale of the craft is there equations to tell you how many formers it needs within the design? How many stringers should be used or even the maximum stress that can be applied between...

Re: Aircraft plans

Thanks Alan, I'll take a look when im at a real pc. What kind of resources search do they have? I'll have a look at their website during work tomorrow morning. Very tempting Andy thanks but im actually trying to research the SR.45 Princess. I have a nearly complete 3d model from a couple of years ba...

Re: Aircraft plans

Thanks Alan, nice find :) . However, you are correct at there being no SARO section. Theres a few topics on the RC forums but nothing on paper yet. I shall keep searching. If i remember rightly there is a group down in Solent that specialise in SARO history. I'll see if I can hunt down some contact ...

Aircraft plans

Evening all, If I wanted to find plans of aircraft from manufacturers that no longer exist e.g. Saunders-Roe is there somewhere that I could find them whether on the internet or not? Is there an archive for this sort of thing? There are books that contain diagrams but when considering building somet...

Re: petrol pump hanger

Duct tape, lots and lots of duct tape :D No seriously though have you considered using grip ties they use on expedition rucksacks. Two of them around the 20L tank and then you could use aluminium strips to attach it within the straps maybe? The other option is have the tank on a base, nothing too sp...

Re: Problems with 1.20 2 stroke

Hi Ken, quick update (work seems to get in the way of all the fun stuff) so yesterday I took apart the engine. Back cover and cylinder head came off and I immediately noticed the absence of any gaskets and only one shim on the cylinder head (there should be at least two and a gasket). This could wha...

Re: Problems with 1.20 2 stroke

Thanks Ken, I heard some say it could be too high a compression but I have a feeling you are right. If it was that problem it would have surfaced while engine testing. I'll try to gt it open this week and havea look Would the evidence of this be shown clearly anywhere or is it done to the movement o...

Problems with 1.20 2 stroke

Afternoon all. I am having a few problems all of a sudden with my Evolution 1.20 2 stroke glow engine. It rather ruined the flying side of my Strathaven airshow and I am still puzzled as to why it has happened all of a sudden. To begin with this engine was run in on the aircraft and as such was inve...
