Re: FLAIR 1/4 TIGER MOTH CG

Hi Ken,

Many thanks to you, everything that was wanted!
The old gal is 20+ years old, but will fly this year.
Just a shame the builder is no longer with us to see it.

Many thanks - Dave T.

A sad passing

I have to report the sad passing of Mike Weaver from Cornwall. Mike was a regular attendee at the Bellevue flyins in North Devon and the shows at Cosford and Much Marcle. He was more a builder than flyer, and delighted in the more obscure aircraft from the between wars period. His later creations be...

Re: P47 colours

A big thank you , Guys.
I will definitely be taking the grey route, and using Warbird paints as I have used them previously very successfully.

Ron, please pass my best regards to Paul and tell him his new airliner looks absolutely awesome!!
Hope to meet you both again soon.

P47 colours

Hi Guys, My project this winter is a P47 razorback flown by Lt. Peter E.Pompetti with the Duxford Eagles, 78th fighter group, 84th squadron, coded WZ-Z, No. 274641. I only have one reasonable photo of the machine showing it with olive drab topsides, and the undersurfaces appear to be a light or mid g...

Fuel Proofer

I have a couple of large glow powered models beautifully finished in Flair Spectrum satin fuel proofer, which I am thinking of powering with petrol engines.
Would the glow proofer be OK against the inevitable odd petrol spill, or must I consider refinishing the models?

Re: JC 51 Engine

Hi John, I have a JC area 51, absolutely brilliant engine, but I had trouble initially setting up the carburation. It will not run at full throttle unless the high needle is at least 2 and 3/4 turns open - that is after running in. present settings are - low needle 7/8 turn open and high needle 2 an...

Flair Tiger Moth C of G

I have just aquired a completed 1/4 Flair Tiger Moth but without original drawings or instructions.
Can anyone let me know where the C of G should be for this model.
I have a reasonable and safe position from calculation, but would like to know what Flair originally specified.

Re: 1/2 scale Tiger Moth

John.

Looks brilliant, I can't wait to see this with a glider in tow. Hopefully flying later this year?
It will be worth the trip from Cornwall to wherever just to see it airborne.
