Re: zenoa exhaust

Hi Arthur it sounds like what you have is an original Zenoah silencer fitted to the engine. If you open the silencer it should have a baffle plate inside. To change it to something more conventional you will need to able to silver solder. If you make up a small hardwood block about 1 inch thick you ...

Re: Diacov 1000

John, like you I found the price of Oratex getting prohibitive and I used the Sarik Diacov 1000 on the Paul Hughes Shoestring. Was reasonably pleased with the finished but it was my learning curve having used Oratex in the past. The good news is that it is wider than Tex, As a start point I coated t...

Re: Wanted.....LET Z 37 Cmelak

Ian, only think I can find is that Jerry Bates does a 1/8 scale plan ( span 57 inch). Jerry's plans are good quality and easy to read for scaling. If your friend needs to get a copy they are available from Fighter aces contact Phil Clark.

Futaba T8FG transmitter,,, error message

Just wondering if any present or past users of the subject transmitter have seen the following issue. Up to now the transmitter has worked without issue. I was test running a model the other day and all was well. After the test run I switched off the transmitter. Shortly afterwards on switching it o...

Re: Futaba SBD-1 and HV servos

David, found a manual for the SBD-1 on the Hobbico website and in the one page document there is a small note stating that the item is for use with either 4 or 5 cell NiCad or NiMh cells. there is not mention of LiFe or LiPo cells in the manual. If in doubt you could use the Powerbox switch system w...

Re: DH moth minor plan

Built mine from Jerry Bates plan and its a nice straight forward build. Used Roto 25 engine as it fitted into cowl with just a minor cut out for the st Andard silencer, Covering was a Glassed fus and solartex wing and tail. Cowl and Oleo legs also available from fighter aces. Hope this helps Dave Wa...

Re: Howard DGA6 Mr Mulligan

Paul, if I remember correctly Harry Hartland did an article in the journal on the undercarriage Mount system he used in his Stinson. It used a system which used internal springing which worked very well. And was not visible on the outside.
If I find it I'll let you know

Just been reading through all of the comments on the Re-branding and as I may be the happy chappie who needs to talk our audiences through this next season thought that I should do a bit of researching. Now found that this is not as simple as it first sounds. So firstly LMFA. saw I think it was Bob ...

Re: Engine standoffs

Frank, not sure about the model you are building but I would suggest avoiding 75mm engine standoffs. The problem when you go to longer standoffs is vibration problems. It would be far better to look at extending the engine mounting box to give you a more rigid solution and hence far less vibration.....

Rob, thanks for all the good work. Worked on Euro committees in the past and know its like pushing water up hill. Without yours and BMFA efforts we would all be playing with toy submarines in the local duck pond.
