Re: What oil and mix?

Thank you everyone. The common response seems to be to use less oil. Having taken in all the suggestions I've now flown the model very successfully 4 times using 40-1. I use that mix in my other engines, finally I think I've cracked it. Did also back off the high needle just a touch.

Cheers
Stewart.

What oil and mix?

I've got an Mvvs 40cc which I've not run for a couple if years since a crash. I'm just about to re fit it into the repaired model but noticed the piston is covered in black oil which implies to me it was over oiled. I think it was recommended to run it on either 25 or 30-1, which I did but it used t...

It's ok, Legends is in July. Wouldn't it be even better if they both dropped into EK, then all three could rev their guts out together.

Oh, to give you another idea, just look at to OD paint when you first pop the lid off the tin, some of them look brownish.

Re: What would you do?

Just leave it in the garden for a couple of years. This is just a remotely educated guess that it's possible that they were sprayed OD but have faded by the weather. Wartime pictures hardly ever give an accurate idea of the actual colour. Many done in the 70's and 80's weren't researched properly, n...

Re: 1/4 SCALE BF109E

I'm now finishing this project for its new owner. David Brown is currently making the spinner backplate and oleo's. As you can see Kens one has turned out to look very convincing and will fly very soon.

Re: mick reeves 1/4 scale spit latest version

I've built the latest version, it's way better than all of the others. Downsides are, some of the parts supplied are nothing like the ones shown on the plan and the dihedral is really wrong, too much and to cure it you'd have to remake the laser cut spars. Good points, the moulded fuselage is very g...

Trumpets

Hi, can anyone please tell what the adverse effect would be if I remove the trumpet from a rear carb 3w80? I've got to rebuild the carb and getting the carb on and off with the trumpet fitted is a pain.

Amazing pictures of 910, I got to spend a lot of time on that T20 when she returned from the states to join TFC. They've done a cracking job on it, think it won grand champion at Oshkosh before it came back.

Re: This could not happen in Britain

Quality vid Paul, I've loaded diggers in a similar way but not in a busy road. What they should have done once they had the front end on was to have swung it round and lifted the back end up then just driven on, flipping amateurs. Other than that can't see a problem with it, health an safety people ...
