Re: Transmiter wanted 8ch and up

Hi Luke, I have a Multiplex Royal 9 Evo. in mint condition. It's 35 meg but is synthesised so does not use crystals. There's a couple of rx's to go with it, along with charger. Can take to Cosford. David Jones.

Re: Carf P 47 Moki 250

Hi Robert, check out my build thread for the 1/4 scale Sea Fury, (page 1 of your new projects, item no 5). There are some pics of my throttle and choke servo installation about half way down page 5. David Jones.

Re: DH Moth Minor undercarriage

Thanks to everyone who replied to my request for info, we are now sorted. I'll probably do a build thread for this project in due course so you will see how we got on. David Jones.

Re: DH Moth Minor undercarriage

Thanks Peter, they do look the dogs, pricey, but very nice. I've told my mate so it will be up to him if we go for them. I would have hoped there would be something nearer to home. David Jones.

DH Moth Minor undercarriage

I am building a 1/4 scale DH Moth Minor from the Jerry Bates plan and we need to source a pair of sprung oleo legs to suit the model. We have tried contacting Unitracts but have had no reply. Does anyone know where we could get a pair from, preferably off the shelf? The pic is a scan off the plan, t...

Re: Zirolli B25 Mitchell build

Thanks for the update and video Dave and Chris. Dave Johnson did comment that the model didn't feel as "agile" as he remembered from the previous test flights before the model was finished. For the second flight we added more aileron throw which did improve the handling somewhat. The gener...

Re: D.H. Moth Minor dihedral

Hi Peter, that's brilliant. I'm confident now that I have got it right so I can crack on with the build. Thanks to everyone for your input. David Jones.

Re: D.H. Moth Minor dihedral

Hi Dave, thanks for that, I've seen the two "joiner web" pieces on the plan, that's where I've got the 5 degrees from, the larger one that fits in the outer panel. I'm feeling more confident that I've got it right. I've PM'd my email address to you. Dave Jones.

Re: D.H. Moth Minor dihedral

Nice one Pete, thanks for the reply. I've got an NGH 25 in My Apache Chipmunk, not flown with it yet but does seem to be loads of power (replaced an ASP 180 four stroke). I've had a look at some three view drawings of the Moth Minor and there does seem to be a lot of dihedral, so I'm thinking the 5 ...

Re: D.H. Moth Minor dihedral

Hi chaps, thanks for the replies, unfortunately I won't be at East Kirkby this year. Peter, nice looking model you've got there, what engine did you use and, as far as the dummy hinge line for the folding trailing edge, did you leave a physical gap in the sheeting or is the panel line "cosmetic...

D.H. Moth Minor dihedral

I am about to start a 1/4 scale D.H. Moth Minor, it's from the Jerry Bates plan. The 110" wing consists of a centre section and two outer panels which join at ribs W1A and W2. I can't find any mention of diahedral anywhere on the plan, other than a Sig SH-724 wing joiner. As I want to make the ...

Re: 1/4 scale Sea Fury

Hi Dave, thanks for the kind compliments. The model is owned by Tony Hooper, when I finished my input to the project last year it was handed over to Paul at Kingfisher Aviation for finishing. I was told then that it would be a project for this year, hence the time lag. When I spoke to Tony at Haydoc...

Re: 2017 Show circuit, your input is required

Hi Dave, my DC3 Dakota / C47 Skytrain is, up to now, flown by Dave Johnson, usually in a slot with Frank Fern's Dak. Its the Nick Ziroli plan and Belair laser cut kit and is powered by two Zenoah 38's. The colour scheme is based on the Dak used in the mini series "Band of Brothers". For th...

Thanks for that Phil. I'll certainly be looking at the clunks and do a more thorough check on the fuel lines.

Petrol tubing

How long would you expect petrol fuel tubing to last in a model. The fuel tube in my DC3 is genuine Tygon tube. Although my model is now in it's fourth season, it has had no more than 50 flights to date. I've inspected the fuel lines and they are no longer bright yellow, but are what I would call a ...

Re: Zirolli B25 Mitchell build

Here are some pics taken at the Haydock Park seminar. The front machine gun has been left out for fear of it being caught by passing people. The last pic is of Alan Greaves, looking well chuffed with his model. There's just the nose art to be finished and the dummy engines to be painted and then she...

Re: Zirolli B25 Mitchell build

I’m afraid that, as yet, the model hasn’t been fully assembled since it was sprayed so, as yet, we don’t have any pictures of it in all its glory. The model will be fully assembled at the Haydock Park seminar this coming Sunday, where we will have ample opportunity to photograph it and, no doubt, do...

Re: Zirolli B25 Mitchell build

The entire model was then sprayed with silver coloured automotive base coat, invasion stripes were added to the wings and fuselage. Other graphics such as the stars and bars, squadron markings and the nose art were then painted on, using laser cut paint masks purchased from Flightline Graphics. At t...
