Re: Wellington build thread

Could you give me a link or Mail to Falcon Aviation? A search in the web just brought up some private jet companies....;-)

I may be wrong but I thought that they were on the Kingfisher Aviation stall

Yes, Best wishes to all LMA members and I echo John's remarks on the appreciation of the Committee and all those who 'make things happen' at the shows and Fly Ins.

Re: Open Tx or Edge Tx?

I can't speak for the Edge system but OTX on the FrSky Horus 12 seems straightforward (as much as any computer TX is these days) I used to set up the model on the laptop and then load it into the TX but now I find it easier and quicker to copy a similar model forward within the TX, zero all the sett...

I agree with David although I suspect that might be a minority view.

Re: Wanted 7 to 7.5 inch wheels 150-180mm

Hi All, My thanks to the people who responded directly with a number of suggestions regarding large wheels. In Journal 158, John Brooks wrote an article on making large wheels from polyethylene foam which held great promise. Then over the weekend, a good friend gave me a pair of 8" skateboard w...

To be fair Alan, Champion engines were at best, partially useful for propping open the shed door. Not sure that I would use one for anything else.

Re: Wanted 7 to 7.5 inch wheels 150-180mm

Hi Cary, Yes I know that they are a decent price for new. Banggood do the same ones at a similar price. A good mate of mine always said that 'Anyone can just go and buy it, the win is to improvise adapt and alter' Recycling at its best. When it comes to modelling, I get a lot of satisfaction from do...

Re: Wanted 7 to 7.5 inch wheels 150-180mm

Thanks Steve, Nice wheels Struggling with £80 for a pair of wheels, am hoping to find something a bit more affordable. (Brought up in Yorkshire - Deep pockets / Short arms ) If nothing else comes up I may have to but I'll say no for the moment. Thanks for responding, they actually look perfect for t...

Re: Diacov 1000

The absense of a reasonably priced tex covering material is becoming a real concern for anyone who builds. I cannot for the life of me understand how Solartex could be sold for £40 /10m roll and now Oratex is priced at £160 for the same quantity. Could I ask you to come back here and relate how you ...

I can't give you measurements but on mine, Elevator and rudder are not critical. I have remodelled the aileron hinges to try and get more movement as the roll rate was pretty s l o w. So as much as possible and with differential

I have used 6mm nylon bolts (x2) on a 100" 75cc model. I did have some concerns but tried a but od 'destruction testing' off the model. They are pretty strong!

Re: voltage regulators

I've always been reluctant to use Lipos in an airframe because of the fire risk when charging in situ. Most of my fleet has migrated from NiMh to LiFe batteries. Although I can confirm that if you inadvertantly charge LiFe batteries with the NiMh setting on the charger the Lifes will be completely g...
