Re: 1/10th scale Blackburn Beverley.

Although not directly related to the build of your model, I'll answer the question. I've ben told by both the Secretary & Chief Exectutive of the BMFA that there's no requirement for every member of a BMFA affiliated cluib to be a BMFA member for the club to be affiliated. Most BMFA affiliated c...

You'd be better off using 2 elevator servos, and controlling each elevator from one servo

Re: VERY SAD NEWS

He will indeed be greatly missed and well remembered, not only for all the work he did for the LMA over the years, but also for being a thoroughly nice chap who was always ready to help anyone.

My condolences to all his family.

If all the people who've voted had stumped up a mere £431, they could have bought it already and actually own it themselves!

Re: 1/10th scale Blackburn Beverley.

I wouldn't bother, there's a really big hole in the middle & that former looks about right to maintain some strength.

Re: Battery Backers?

Dave, you’re right, a diode would prevent the other battery from joining the short circuit party, but with the energy stored in even an RX pack, something would melt pretty sharpish if a short occurred. We need to remember that a diode or battery backer can itself fail open circuit, leaving the mode...

Re: Battery Backers?

a) Depends on what and where the short circuit is. A short of a cell in the battery would generally show itself as a reduction in charge capacity, rather than a spontaneous turning of the cell effectively into a length of wire. Nobody would fly with a battery pack they knew wasn't working properly w...

Re: Battery Backers?

Not being entirely trusting of what appears in magazines, I did a test on this a little while ago. It went something like this... As a test I’ve just plugged a fully charged 4 cell NiMh battery into a completely flat 4 cell NiMh battery (with a watt meter between). The flow of power between the two ...

Re: Servo interference

I refer the honourable gentleman to my earlier post on this thread. What does the inside of the plug cap look like, is that a bit brown too?

The brown stains could well be arcing as the plug makes an intermittent earth, giving less spark for good starting.

Re: Servo interference

I'd start with the ignition. Is the plug cap pushed really firmly on & making good contact with the hex of the plug, earthing the ignition?

Re: Vans

John,

If you've got a motorhome you've not got a goods vehicle (van) any more, so the motorhome speed limits apply & vary according to weights as it says in the link
