Re: Over 20Kg Scheme to be Over 25kg?

If an model is under 25kg with fuel, it will no longer need an exemption as of next year, and new models won't need any inspections if under 25kg. If it is over 25kg it will continue to need an exemption and new models will still need an exemption, and we're currently reviewing the process with the ...

Yes as of the end of this year, the weight limit changes from 20kg without fuel to 25 kg with fuel (all fuel tanks full).

Re: Pming - the outbox

Yes, PM's sit in the 'outbox' until read by the recipient. The recipient is also sent an email by the forum to tell them they have received a PM. If they've changed email address & not updated their forum profile, they will never receive it though.

Re: Flying

You've all got mail.

Basically, if you decide to go flying, don't go to meet anyone from outside your household. If other people are there it's no different to other people playing a round of golf or being in the park at the same time as you. Maintain social distancing from anyone else.

Re: CAD designer needed please

Cad software is free, and 2D will be easier to learn than 3D for making a model drawing.

https://nanocad.com/products/nanoCAD/

A rough estimate of my time to do some cad drawing came out at £12,000 (no vat) which is probably a bit spendy for a model plane.

Re: igyro 3e

Glen, you can test the gain by wiggling the gyro and seeing how much the connected servo moves. Zero gain, not moves at all, max gain moves a lot. movement should increase as gain increases. What I've done is set the gain dial to only go from zero to +100%, not -100% to +100%. That way, you can only...

Mike,
Did you get the last copy of the LMA journal just before Christmas?

In case you missed it, have a look here

Re: CAA Operator I.D...what did we pay for

Don't care. Don't know. Yes, I'm not making it up. There's one registered drone operator for about every 600 people in the UK, so they are probably in the towns, villages, fields and valleys too.

There were 110,000 registered operators before the approx. 20,000 model association members were uploaded earlier this month.

after june you will only be legal to fly if you do the test online. No that is not correct. After June we will be flying under an 'Article 16' operating authorisation that will also cover remote pilot competency. That will not include everyone having to do the CAA online test.
