Re: Tool for simulating rivets and panel lines

Tool in prototype stage tips to unscrew as per a leather punch so various sizes can be fitted, well that's the idea, the pics show impressions made in Ali covering, the tool can be made heatable but if used on primer which is not yet dry it works well , the fact is Phil I may in all likelihood just ...

Yep me too but I made this one, the spikes are in fact 2mm studs mounted on a nylon base, so I get round marks.

Tool for simulating rivets and panel lines

I have been experimenting for a while with a rotary tool I have made for simulating flush rivets and with a simple addition panel lines can be made too. Despite selling most of my models I have a 1/4 scale spitfire which I have used to experiment covering in Ali tape and marking panel lines etc. So ...

The King engines are actually still produced in germany and are quite good engines for what they are, Kingflumotoren still sell these engines, interestingly they produce great power at low rpm.

Great looking plane and hope to see it flying soon

Re: rc model petrol engine with electric start

I certainly remmember Rays name if I am not mistaken even in darkest Africa we had heard of quite a few of the pioneers of RC, I also remmember Dr Jeremy Shaw having a starter on his Grumman Albatross but seem to recall this was only on one engine. Yes I also read about his planes over there, I thin...

Re: rc model petrol engine with electric start

sorry just a bit of clarity the bearing in the bendix helps the gears to mesh as you face the gear to roll in the free wheel direction when it engages, you also need it for when the engine fires or the starter can lock in, then you have a generator at the least or a big big problem. these are not th...

Re: rc model petrol engine with electric start

I built my system over two years ago, it is really easy to do but use a motor with a planetary gearbox, the gearbox should be about 1:5 and then the gear on engine as close to 1:5 as you can again. on a 50cc petrol a brushed cheap 600 can turns the engine easily, the secret is to have a decent bendi...
