Re: Thor 45cc Engine problem

I have a replacement top plate on it's way from Rowena Carbs. Thanks again Tony.

Just hope I can get the engine running properly when it arrives!

Re: Thor 45cc Engine problem

Thanks Tony, the brass insert on the fuel inlet looks longer in the picture than the pressure nipple I took out. I will give them a bell tomorrow and see what they say.

Re: Thor 45cc Engine problem

Many thanks once again Alan for your reply, it was the plastic elbow that snapped. I have managed to remove the brass insert, it was a push fit and not threaded but can't find anyone who stocks a spare. Would you be able to do anything with it? If so PM me your details and I will send it to you, tha...

Re: Thor 45cc Engine problem

In trying to remove the carb to clean it, I manage to brake the pressure nipple and cannot find a replacement, been trawling the net for a couple of hours now. Also need a replacement gasket to go between the carb and the engine. It looks like there was two thin gaskets with a thicker spacer, need t...

Thor 45cc Engine problem

Ok, I know they are not great engines but I have seen a few that look to run well. My engine will start no problem and transition up to about one third throttle and run steady, anything higher than that and it starts hunting. The carb trumpet gets quite wet with a mist coming out of it (that doesn't...

An interesting watch, we could have been world leaders for years if the project was allowed to come to fruition.

Re: Setups without SM Services units!

This is the first I have looked at this thread since I bought the Jet Max BEC. Sad to say I have not tried it out yet, very soon I hope. I am still using SM Services units. If I was using two batteries, I would use diodes personally. Interesting comments guys!

Zenoah 38 Problem

I know a lot of people don't look at all parts of this forum, I have posted under technical help looking for suggestions to help solve a problem with a Z38. Please have a look if you think you can help. Thanks

Zenoah 38 Problems

I changed the carb diaphragm on my Z38 and cannot get it to run, it would appear to be flooding the engine. When I remove the spark plug fuel pours out, I dry the plug off and it fires and starts but won't run for long and will not restart without the same rigmarole again. Not aware of doing anythin...

Re: HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year to one and all. My New Year resolution is just to fly some of my models!!!!! 2016 was very lean in terms of flying, so this year the hope is that when I have time to fly, the weather is suitable! Maybe i just need to become less of a fair weather flyer. I hope 2017 brings you all peac...

Re: What RC 2.4gHz system?

I use Multiplex now but used Spectrum/JR DSM2 for years without a problem. You will hear disparaging comments about virtually any radio you care to mention, causing crashes etc. However, a lot of the time it is down to the installation of the Rx not being as per manufacturers recommendations. If you...

Re: Use of our website

It does surprise me that not much happens in the General Discussion banner. I look at the site at least three times a week, looking for new discussions, for sale and wanted etc. I also love Neil Hutchinson's photographs, who doesn't! Although not a prolific builder, if I am unsure of anything, my fi...

Re: DeHavilland DH90 Dragonfly

Steve, When you suggested the Jeti MAX BEC2s to me in the Electrics forum and said you had two in your Dragonfly I had to search for it and found your flight (possibly maiden) on Youtube. A beautiful model aircraft and a lovely flight. I look forward to seeing it in the flesh! I did buy a Jeti MAX B...

Re: Setups without SM Services units!

I have bought one of the Jeti Max BEC2 units to try. I have also bought a couple of Schottky Diodes and will try that option too. Chris, you are correct in saying that technically the diodes are not required as the internal resistance couple with a fairly low potential difference between a charged a...

Re: Setups without SM Services units!

Thanks for that Steve. I have never seen these before and was a bit puzzled when I saw the BEC! They look like a good option, I think I'll give one a try. Never tried the A123 batteries either but I have batteries for the plane I'm working on, I'll leave that for another day!

Thanks again.

Setups without SM Services units!

Now that we no longer have SM Services, what are you all using in terms of toggle switches? Also what setups are being used for dual batteries (single Rx) without using a megabucks PowerBox type unit.
