Hi Dave, yes I am on Skype, talk to quite a few of my modelling friends up and down the country, even to some friends who live abroad, and as you say, it's FREE :D

Re: What are your thoughts on this forum?

I remember the old Forum, and when Robin set up this new version, which was very basic, and yes it did get a good kicking from the membership etc. because any old joe couldn't just put a posting on without registering, something that you have to do on all other forums anyway. But now, thanks to a lo...

Re: Your two pennies worth

:D :D :D experienced that across my **** a few times I can tell you Tony :D to be honest, I think I was just bone idle lazy, hence I had no interest in learning, much to my regret in later years, I later learnt how to add & subtract by playing darts, and spelling and grammar by doing various wri...

Re: Your two pennies worth

Hi Dave, well done on introducing this (as Keith would say) "off piste" section to the forum, at least it will keep old Bob T happy as he likes to chat on various subjects :D Know what you mean about the spelling thing but as you say, you have to make exceptions for some peoples lack of ed...

Re: Off - Piste

Got to agree with you there Paul, (& Keith) A.H. also did a superb portrayal in the film about the Aussie guy who rode the old Indian motorcycle at Bonnevile salt flats and broke the record, which I think still stands today.

Yes, well done Colin, this new scheme seems to be becoming quite popular as was the old Red Arrpws scheme, and also the larger size Hawk's now.

Re: Journal Articles

Thanks for your reply Dave, yes I totally agree with you, there is a need for the journal, not everyone is a computer techno nut  and although I do not get to see your rendition of the journal, if the web site is anything to go by it will be excellent, and yes, it is bl***y hard work, and very ...

Re: Journal Articles

Hi Keith, whilst your post and offer is a good encouragment to generate articles, as an ex editor, I used to go to most of the major LMA shows/events, and when mixing with the members and chatting to them, used to cajole them into producing an article, or a general description of their model, so as ...

Re: My Jet Indulgence

While I was on this Jet Forum I'd thought I might update my initial posting. Boomerang XL: This jet is awaiting a test flight weather and time permitting. It has now been fitted with a Jetcat 120se turbine, that I have also converted over to Kero Start, so really looking forward to getting it airbor...

Re: Merlin 160 or Jet Cat 160

Thanks for the feedback on the Merlin Andy, I must say I agree with your thinking, 300 quid is a considerable saving and go towards other bits for the jet :)

Keep us up to date when you do get your jet, and perhaps a build thread?

Regards,
Vince.

Re: duxford crash

How sad that these two vintage aircraft collided but thank God there were no fatalities. It must be a great sadness to Bob Davies to loose his old BBD as he had owned and operated this aircraft sucessfully for many, many years. Although a mangled wreckage, no doubt once the insurance have paid out i...
