Re: 1/4 scale PUCARA

Very interesting. I have been thinking about building a Pucara myself and had made some enquiries with Falcon Aviation about the kit but I understand that the kit is still quite new so I assume yours is the only one under way? I would be really interested in any information or experience you have to...

Re: chargers

The hitec H4 professional that I have is very capable, easy to use and one of the best I have had. A bit pricey but I think its worth it

Servo wire?? (not 3 wire flat)

Hi. I am looking for some wire to make some extension leads for my electric retracts, amongst other things. These have only got two wires so I do not really want to use normal "3 wire flat" servo wire. firstly I would like to avoid the extra weight and bulk and secondly I do not really wan...

Re: MEISTER Republic P-47D-22-RE Thunderbolt, Step by Step B

I would not be too concerned about the length of the channel in comparison to the length of the canopy. Its related to the amount of movement required. Purely from an engineering / support point of view if the canopy is 40 cm long but only opens 10cm the the maximum length of channel required is abo...

Re: Molding a spinner

Sorry but I do not see how this works unless you have some more detail. If the spinner base is not true then it will not sit on the flat surface plate correctly and all that happens is the laser scribes a line around the base that is also out of true by the same amount? In effect the laser is scribi...

Molding a spinner

Hi. I am about to attempt moulding my first spinner. My first attempt will only be a static example and I am reasonably comfortable with the theory of the process except for one step, finishing the base of the spinner and truing up. Even though my first example will be static I think it would be goo...

12mm stepped reamer

Does anyone know where to get a stepped reamer that goes up to 12mm in the UK? From my searches it seems they are available inn the USA but we do not seem to have a need for 12mm prop holes in the UK!!!??? I could use a taper reamer but would prefer a straight hole.

cheers Dave

Its an interesting topic. I actually work in the aerospace industry and am very familiar with aircraft certification requirements. Those requirements get opened to interpretation all the time and specific modifications to existing requirements, or new requirements get written all the time for specif...

"20kg Limit and electric

Hi, My first post. How does the 20kg limit work for electric powered models? I have done a bit of research and all I can find is that the limit is a dry weight, ie without fuel for IC power. As the main power batteries are the electrical "fuel" is the dry weight 20kg limit with or without ...
