Cyparis spars

Hi all, I would like to use cyparis for the spars on my latest build, as I have heard that it's lighter, stronger, and has closer grain than spruce. Can't find it or suppliers on google, and was wondering where to obtain it. I'm located near Bromley, Kent, but I'm driving to Norfolk on Saturday so m...

Spraying camouflage

Pfalz d.xii 1/4 scale.
Looking for advice. I don't have any spray equipment, and am using spray cans from Halfords. The subject I'm building has a "soft" transition from one colour to the next, rather than a clean sharp edge. How do I mask to get the same soft edge?

Re: Head Office

I might be wrong, but I think in the event of a claim being made against one of the insurers, the other insurer makes a "contribution" towards the claimants payout. When making a claim, one of the questions from an insurance company is "are there any other insurance policies relating ...

Re: The Global “anti-drone” hysteria continues..

One solution would be a requirement to register the sale, the onus on the retailer. The purchaser being responsible for using it in accordance with the guidance given in the users instructions supplied with the drone. A better solution would be to forget all about new regulation, and apply and prose...

I have used Halfords spray cans, and always wiped down the model after each flight.

Re: My brain hurts!

Thanks for the tips.
Still undecided on subject, but will be an early WW1.
It will be a linen covered fuselage, as I have just finished an Albatros C.iii, and the ply covering meant a lot more lead up front than I wanted. (It also cost a fortune!)

Thanks all again,

Re: My brain hurts!

Magic!
Thanks all.
I can do a small spread sheet with Maurice's calcs, so I will just need to input the original scale and required scale and viola! off to the printers.

Ta very much

My brain hurts!

Hi,
If I have a set of 1/6 scale plans, but require 1/4 scale, how do I work out what percentage increase I need to tell the print shop?

I'm not to bad on excel, but need a formula.

One for all you maths wizards!

Barrie,
Came across this while surfing the web:

I have also used this company in the past, not sure if they do what you require though:

Re: FN5 turrets for Wellington

A true master of detail! It's all the little things that bring it to life. The wear from handling the intercom connections is just right, and the intercom wiring reminds me of the VIR cables i used as an apprentice. An inspiration to me to look at how i detail my next scale project. Keep it coming, ...

Wanted: 1/4 scale dh9a plans

Does anyone know where I can get 1/4 scale plans for a DH 9a. I had a set for 1/6, but gave them to the chap that bought the plane. Miss it so much I want to do another, but larger.

Re: Dft Consultation - Future of Drones in the UK

Unfortunately, I am more than capable of losing control of my planes without any assistance from a third party. It may provide us with a new excuse though! On a more serious note, the original aim of these "drone regulations" was to improve air safety, but the future capability to override...

It's an illusion. In plan form the in-board elevator edges form a "V", so the elevator nearest the camera looks as if it is giving "up".

I second that, Prop Guy only sells quality goods. He also sells protective sleeves for props. I have recently bought four large ww1 for a large electric that I'm building, and all are perfectly balanced.

Geoff,
Correction, looking at my notes I started with 18*8, and after a few tanks went up to 20*8. I got mixed up with the props I used on the z45.
