David Boddington

Many will already be aware that LMA Vice President, David Boddington, is very ill in Hospital. I spoke to his wife, Jill, last week and she confirmed that it was serious and David was trying to come to terms with a difficult prognosis. He is, however, much encouraged by all the good wishes, cards an...

Re: 3W-140 Problem

I've sorted the problem (rough running, poor starting). It was in the joint between the crankcase and the reed-valve frame. The original jointing compound was failing allowing leakage around the reeds. Cleaned-off the old compound and re-jointed with 'Universal Blue' (Hyalomar) - available from moto...

3W-140 Problem

Re: Dave & Harold's Panthers

Euan - they're scratch-built. As I recall, they're enlarged from the Ziroli plan (I think), Belair did the formers; they're balsa/glass cloth covered.
Why don't you have a chat with them; they'll be at Longhorsley on the Sunday.

Dave & Harold's Panthers

Do you know what, those useless large, LMA laggards from Lancashire still haven't posted any pic's of their magnificent 1/4-scale Grumman Panthers so yours truly is doing it for them --------------!

PS Is Harold adjusting the crown jewels with his left hand? He always was a show-off -------!

VP's new model

Dave is too modest to post this himself: It's 68" span, modified from the Airsail kit. I put the Laser 70 up front, which runs beautifully (of course), but certainly doesn't over power it. The Squadron crest on the tail I photocopied from my old lapel badge. Following very helpful advice from M...
