Kilroy was Here

He is engraved in stone in the National War Memorial in Washington, DC, Back in a small alcove where very few people have seen it. For the WWII generation, this will bring back memories. For you younger folks, it's a bit of trivia that is a part of our American history. Anyone born in 1913 to about ...

Re: Fun stuff goes here.

Wow These are so VERY TRUE Laws of Inverse Negative Dynamics 1. Law of Mechanical Repair - After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to pee. 2. Law of Gravity - Any tool, nut, bolt, screw, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible place in the uni...

Re: T 28 Trojan

A good day at Woodford on Sunday 20th March 2016. The Trojan did its 6 flights so the paperwork can now be completed and it can fly in public. A minor issue re the fueling of the engine causing the engine to run a little rough but the flights were done on around 1/3 throttle, including the roll and ...

I know he was not a modeler but what a man. Very sad to hear one of our true aviation heroes has passed on. There will never be anyone who gets close to the amount of different aircraft types this man flew. A true gentleman who will be hard to forget. RIP

Subject: A dead Duck, a Lawyer and a Farmer A big city lawyer went duck hunting in rural northern Minnesota. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field. As the lawyer climbed over the fence to claim his bird, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him what he was doin...

Re: T 28 Trojan

Just got back from Gaydon having seen some amazing models on display. The trojan was fully assembled for the first time in its new livery and looked fantastic. As promised a couple of photos from the display.

A change of plan as to the colour scheme as the Bob Hoover scheme was not really recogniseable as a Trojan. A bit of a rush to get it ready for Gaydon and its not all done yet but its looking good. I will post some more pics for him from Gaydon this weekend.

Re: LMA Cosford Air Show 2015

Harold Dowbekin and myself would also like to pass on our thanks to all the team that made this weekends show such a success. We arrived on Friday and had a little bit of an insight into the difficulties that the organisers had to endure. The people involved must have the patience of a saint to deal...

Re: T 28 Trojan

We took the Trojan to Woodford today and despite the weather gods not being on our side managed to get a couple of flights in. Slight problem on the second flight as the gearbox on the screwjack retract mechanism for the nose leg fell apart. Not something that Harold made so we cant blame him for th...

Re: T 28 Trojan

There are lots of T 28s in Navy training schemes and Vietnam camo so as a tribute to Bob Hoover, probably the greatest pilot ever, Harold is going for this scheme. Bob can no longer fly in the USA because of his advancing years and the miserable ba****ds have revoked his licence.

T 28 Trojan

Not my project but as Mr Dowbekin does not really get on with computers he has tasked me with putting this on the website. About 3 years ago Harold decided to build a large T 28 Trojan. He initially purchased a 1400mm FMS T28 and was impressed with its flying characteristics so he had a plan enlarge...

Impressive Indoor Model

Not your usual subject for an indoor model but a very impressive modeler achieves something very special with this.

Although I only knew him for a couple of years I always enjoyed his company and his knowledge. It is so sad that his presence is no longer with us but he will always be in our minds and fondly rememberred. Sincere condolences to his wife and family.
