Re: The LMA Web Site

It is unfortunately a chunk of work to transfer a build thread into a web page...which is why we've not done it! We have considered a few times doing such things, but like everything, it's the time & effort of doing it. A 'gash' way of preserving the build threads would possibly to print the who...

Re: Autumn Journal

There's nothing wrong with the current LMA logo, but one of the issues we have is that we don't actually have a 'definitive' LMA logo. The original will have been hand drawn with a quill back in the mid Cambrian period, so no master high resolution digital version exists. Every time we need a logo o...

Re: Video forum?

You could post them in the technical help forum, start the thread with ‘video -‘ to make clear what it is. With the low number of posts we have these days not much chance of stuff being lost

And that's after I shortened it from

Her royal Britanic majesty's United Kingdom of Great Britain and dominions society of large aeronautical engineering models and design, build, maintenance, repair and flying thereof

As that seemed a bit wordy

CAA Permission For Model Fying Over 400ft

The recent 2018 amendments to the Air Navigation Order will come into effect on the 30th July, making it illegal to operate any unmanned aircraft (including model aircraft) above 400ft. The UK model flying associations (BMFA, SAA, LMA & FPVUK) have been working in close collaboration in ongoing ...

Re: Newark & District MFG new members

The club is bmfa affiliated, and having spoken to Richard offline I'll leave it up to the club to sort themselves out. As flying sites and members are both hard to come by, good luck in your endeavours. I've edited this thread slightly to remove the unnecessary message and references. Don't do it ag...

Re: Newark & District MFG new members

You've read this, right?

https://bmfa.org/The-BMFA/The-Affiliation-Partnership

Not a problem for me, but seeing as I get asked the question fairly regularly, clubs need to be clear on what the requirements are on them and how they meet them.

As a bmfa affiliated club, what does your constitution say about club members not being also bmfa members?

Re: Latest Journal

So what are you proposing we do? Big toy Aeroplanes are expensive no matter which way you look at it and take a lot of space to store and transport. Along with making sure we can legally carry on doing what we do, we need people to carry on doing it I agree. Is the image of the lma today attractive ...

Re: over 20k rule

Arthur,
Yes at some stage. If you read back on all the stuff I've put on here and in the journal over the past couple of years about the revision of the easa basic regulation and associated rule making it's all explained there.

Re: Latest Journal

But then again, as this is all supposed to be about building and flying stuff for fun, if the sentiment of 'LMFAO' isn't felt sometimes while partaking (no matter what you think of the words used), what's the point?

Re: Latest Journal

I don't think we should get too hung up on sharing an acronym with completely unrelated bodies...we do already as you can see below, and we don't even make top of the list today!

LMFA only gets slightly rude if you stick an 'O' on the end (when it's not LMFA any more)
