Re: Zenoah 20 sidewinder.

Just discovered. The back plate on the Z20 is monted on the engine with eqi-spaced holes so the back plate can be turned through 90degrees,the engine can be mounted sidewinder or inverted on a narrow hole mounting. :D

Zenoah 20 sidewinder.

I want to mount a Zenoah 20cc sidewinder . Are there likely to be any problems with this as it is usual to mount petrol engines inverted. In flight the engine may be in any attitude , but is there likely to be a starting problem. Mounting sideways allows a narrower fus. due to the mounting hole cent...

Re: Picture of the month pics.

Hi Barry, sorry they are set at that time when saved, I find if you set them to pause for a long time the file size increases and it take longer to come on the screen, people then get fed up of waiting and tend to wander off the site. If you go on the show reports in the public display & events...

Re: LMA Proficiency Scheme

BOB ,The point of my post was that the B test is not equivalent to the Prof. cert..The B test also requires the pilot to fly perfect rectangular circuits maintaining constant height, and in both directions , and one direction not above 40ft. I passed the B test firstime, and in a cross wind.

Re: LMA Proficiency Scheme

I don't believe there is any corellation at all between the B test and the prof test. The B test consists of a seies of well executed aerobatics, together with a well deomstarated safty awareness, which includes some in depth questions on saftey. A LMA prof. test may be taken with a model that is no...

Re: Wagstaff Extra

Thanks Denis, you are not alone with the 50 cc size. Steve mallinder suggested a DA 50 for it.
I did think of the THOR. We will try various, starting with a Z26 which I have.
Cheers.

Wagstaff Extra

Just got me a 25% Patty Wagstff Extra. I know some would install a 50cc but would a Zenoah 26 fly it? I have a spare 26, it will save buying another engine. I neeeed to know.
Not intersted in screeming vertical, just nice slow manoeuvres.

Re: Wing Stressing

Hi John. Stressing a wing as you describe ,if it is a cantilever wing, would be a complicated analytical maths problem. Also, supporting a wing at the tips is not how a wing supports the plane in flight. It would be better to support the model at the centre of lift, and in the absence of a plan form...
