Re: 2020 Renewals

Rob- I found that, after I had paid, there was no way to download the card. I had to go back and start again with the log in and go from there. May be a link could be added? Or have I just missed something?

Re: An Update on the UK Regulations for Model Flyers

With all the obviously illegal number plates I see around and nobody gets done for, is plod going to go around looking at models with a magnifying glass? And how do you check if a number is correct? Pointless. Incidentally, the BMFA is giving a copy of the exemption with their mag. Saves you printin...

Re: An Update on the UK Regulations for Model Flyers

I have for some years, carried my BMFA, LMA and club cards in my Tx case. Seems logical. I can add my B and LMA prof to the wad- it will help insulate the transmitter!

Re: Thank you all drone owners

The whole legislation seems to be directed at people (mostly drone users) who fly from common land, car parks, back roads etc. We are also on a locked airfield, and I would like to see how any inspector or policeman would gain access. However, the seemingly grey area with insurance is enough to make...

Re: Thank you all drone owners

Firstly, Devil's advocate mode here- not all drone users are law breaking idiots. It is a small minority. It is the fact that anyone can 'fly' a drone that causes a problem, little Jimmy buying a Hi Boy from ebay is most likely just to plant it in a field somewhere, not cause risk to an airliner. As...

And I will certainly use 3mm letters.. I have some old sticky printable address labels from the days when I used to send club newsletters by snail mail. Perfect for this job.

Re: Foam veneer wing lightweight finish?

Ronseal works well. Trouble is it does not shrink. For tissue we used to wet it, let it almost dry, then put it on with thinned dope. What about lightweight glass cloth? You can then use Roneal or Pond Sealer.
