Re: SUPER Tiger G4500 45cc Plane Engine New Very Rare New Never used

Mine ran fine on the stock carb...actually in the heli world everone took their OS carbs off and fitted Super Tigre :-) Just needed an OS F FS plug (G2300-2000,2500,3250 all the same) 11% oil (most people seemed to miss this) You could hardly call it easy on fuel though... I still hold some parts in...

Re: Wanted - Retracts for topflight 1/5scale p51d 60cc version

Bigger engine does not mean flown faster/harder, the modern petrol motors are lighter and probably less vibration than the old industrial units-its how the throttle and any energy generated is used...

Re: Mick Reeves 25% Spitfire Build

OK, be interesting to see the final result, for sure the volume of air is not as important of where its directed and expelled! I had to sort out a 200cc flat for last week with baffles...I could get three fingers between the cylinder heads and cowl...air doing nothing! Keep on it, like I said your w...

Re: Mick Reeves 25% Spitfire Build

Rob

Its more the capacity to run 9 mins plus, it will need a large capacity, maybe 5000mAh. Then next question is will the motor cope with that heat wise?
EDF units like that are used to running in cool air and for 4-5 mins.

Glad the servos will be suitable :-)

Re: Mick Reeves 25% Spitfire Build

Rob

Scanning through the build. You are a craftsman. Concerns are, you really using 3.2kg plastic geared £8 servos on the ailerons?
What is the projected final weight?
I'd hate all the hard work to go to waste!

Dave

Also what battery you running the cooling fan on?

Re: Prop size equivalent

A 28 x 10 on a 120cc engine is light load, DA 100's swing a 28 x 10 happily. A 26 x 12 would be very light on a 120cc engine IMO
Do what the full scale did and add blades!
