Re: Activity at the 1 st of the new fields

There's an old airfield in South Warwickshire that may be a possibility is Atherstone on Stour airfield, not that far from Long Marston and Wellesbourne. I don't know anything more but anyone from that part of the world may have some more info/contacts.

Re: Activity at the 1 st of the new fields

Does anyone know anything about Wymeswold airfield just east of Loughborough? Looks like some karting and haulage activity but not much else. Might be worth investigating. Worth noting that the Loughborough club is located about a Mile north.

Re: Activity at the 1 st of the new fields

Good stuff indeed! Well done to all. A few good mows and a decent roll or two in the winter and it'll be like a bowling green! It'll be good to see a few more around the country. I'm trying to think about a site in the Midlands. Will have a look around.

Re: New project No 3- jodel robin regent

I have a flash and wot4 foamy and as good as they are they're nothing like any of the models you're refurbing. I'd fly the T180, then move to the WOT XL, then Chippy, then Jodel and Tiggie before contemplating a 1/5 or 1/4 Hurricane. Considering you went solo for the first time on the flash last wee...

Richard, why not keep the T180 you're selling and get some stick time on that before moving to other things.

I'm sure you can decipher the throws and C of G even if they're in German. Google might even be able to help you !

Re: New project No 3- jodel robin regent

What span is the Jodel?

At 1/4 scale that'll make it about 7ft". With an 80cc up the front its either heavy or way over powered.

Where do you get all these models from Richard? They all seem quite nice but all need some work.

Re: New prject - DH Chipmunk

A short hop of about 20 minutes down the A46 from Newark will get you to Langar who are all a decent bunch and the site is superb.

Re: New prject - DH Chipmunk

Richard...are you in a local club? If not, it might be worth seeking one out. The kind of questions you're asking and test flights etc are best answered first hand at the field rather that at a distance and occasional shows/fly-ins.

Re: My New Toy

I can't remember Richard, its been a couple of years. Re.the Hitec 635HB servos...there was a Tech notice issued by Hitec a couple of years ago saying that 635HB servos MUST NOT be used in petrol powered airframes, as the size of likely aircraft and therefore the engine is likely to cause a gear tra...

Re: My New Toy

Have you weighed it yet? When you do fly it, make sure you get it rolling, don't haul it off too early and you'll need to use the rudder in the turns, especially on right hand turns. All the aileron and rudder to you can get and as others have said they don't glide that well but it depends on the we...

Re: Wellington build thread

Thanks for the info Steve. I know they are generally on the limit for 20kg. As you say, it's worth registering early doors.

I'll read the article with interest!
