3W-60 What ignition voltage?

3W-60 What ignition voltage?

Just acquired one of these engines, what ignition voltage should I use please?

If its the old style ignition (red white black wires from the crank sensor) its 4.2v. The later ignitions require 6v. The earlier 4.8v ignition units do not like 5 cells. Hope this helps . . . regards Glenn
