Postby AndyHopwood » January 20th, 2013, 10:51 am

Will the dwg drawing files loads onto autocad ok ? I got a free dwg software and wanna design a plan off my paper plan then save it so I can rescale it and sent it off to be printed. Just wondering cheers

Andy, DWG files are a native Autocad format so they should import into Turbocad. When finished save them as a DXF .
Hope this helps. Solly.

Turbocad. Right. So the printers use dxf ? I have never used autocad or turbocad. Are they same or different two package ?

Turbocad is so much easier to use than Autocad although they both use the same parameters and language. If you want a copy of Turbocad, let me know and I will send you one . Solly :) :) :)

Andy, do you have a plan you want to scale up? if so then take it to a printers. they will scan it and scale it up. or if you have a CAD file with a dwg on then i should be able to scale it up but you would still need to print it which sorry i cant help with as i do not have a plotter,i know a company which does but would charge you.

Turbo CAD is very cheap for CAD software. I use Autocad inventor in work which costs around £8000 (eight thousand pounds) AutoCAD lt (2D package) is around £800. Turbo cad is very capable for the
money.
